      In October of 2022, I gave the notice to vacate my
      apartment. I was told by staff that the lease renewal I signed
      for 11/2023 to 1/2024 would be voided.

      Now they have stated that I am now 100% liable for the
      lease and that the employee that told me this information
      was no longer with the company. They also had no
      knowledge of my move out even after I sent notice, turned
      in my keys, and filled out all needed documentation. Also, I
      would be told all documentation of this employee reaching
      out to corporate disappeared.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      I was told in person that the lease would be null and void, the employee's name was Andrew, and to my understanding was the manager of this site. He also stated that he contacted headquarters to do this and those emails are now lost according to this company. All conversations have been over the phone. To that point, the property kept no record of my move-out, and my copy of the move-out paper was not filled out by anyone at the property. So then when I called on November 3rd, the employees thought I was still living there.

      There has been little to no communication on this company’s side, along with no time frame for a possible new occupant. **** *** **** ******** **** ** ********** ** **** ********* I believe there have been many misunderstandings. I have been mainly in contact with this company. The only attempt at communication I received from the company was on 3/20/2023 when this complaint was filed. I am more than happy to submit those records of my communication as well.

      My apartment also had repeated maintenance issues including flooding due to a failure to install a water heater properly (the company did call an HVAC to dehydrate the apartment, but I was left with an outrageous electric bill.), water leaking from an active light figure, and a bathtub with a finish that was peeling off, and the misplacement of rent checks.

      Employees wanting to have in-person conversations over the phone or person and not responding to recorded communication. ***** * ****** ** *** ****** ******** this style of communication has put me in an uncomfortable situation.

      Also, the public company name is Richdale, while under the BBB it is listed under a different name. I do not believe this company has acted in good faint to its tenants.

      I do not believe this company is being truthful about what records it has from this event. During my time dealing with this company, they have repeatedly somewhere lost records of communication during my time at the property and after.

      I have dealt with these issues at *** ********** Apartments since moving in:
      *Ant infestation. Ants were in unopen food in the pantry, and my child's formula during the national shortage,
      *Baby was bitten in the face by an ant
      *Mailboxes were broken for months and were left open; as a result, my mail was stolen (I have a police report reference number).
      *Maintenance won't fix anything. We have had a plumbing problem since moving in.
      *Tubs were not repaired; I am constantly being lied to about tubs being ordered. ** ***** *** ******* and after every bath, I'm peeling paint chips off of him, irritating his skin.
      *There is mold around the tubs.
      *We can't ever get anything done due to the high staff turnover rate.
      *Contents from the garbage disposal back up into the dishwasher.
      *No matter how much I clean the faucet, the brown stuff does not disappear. I don't know what it is.
      The grounds also aren't kept clean.
      I have tried to be patient through it all, but it has become intolerable at this point. It behooves me that maintenance can't keep simple things on hand, like lightbulbs. We have mismatched lights in the bathroom. I have been in contact with Dominique ****** from the corporate office since 12/11/2022, and she lied like she was going to get things done, but I am still dealing with the same issues. I submitted a notice to vacate at the beginning of Feb. I didn't hear from the office until I reached out to them and asked not to receive a penalty for terminating the lease early. The property has failed to provide the necessities. Dominique stated, "she reached out to the office and was told that some things were fixed and the others can be." If that's the case, why hasn't anything been repaired? The culture of this company needs to be revised. There needs to be accountability for their lack of follow-through, and it is always someone's else fault and not the staff who fails to do the work. Maintenance completes work orders without setting foot in the apartment.
