I took my car in cause it was turning over but not starting. They had it for over a month then called and said it needed a new engine. It was running fine with no check engine light and it was turning over. They offered me 500 dollars for the car. I declined and went to pick up the car. They had the engine torn apart and I asked them if they were going to put it back together then I was told it would cost me another 300 dollars to put it back together.I just had the car towed as it was back to my house with parts all over the inside of the car.The man was very confrontational and I was very afraid for my safety.IHope and pray that you can help me. I had to also pay 340 in towing charges.

We initally brought the car in for the diagnostic and had to charge up the battery it was dead. After charging the battery for awhile i was able to plug in the diagnostic equipment. I quickly learned it was going to need further diagnosis, we had exhausted the 1 hour initial diagnostic time . So I pushed the vehicle outside. ***** had called asking for a update and was told more time is needed to diagnose she agreed that we should go ahead and do so. The next time it came in we removed the intake manifold to preform the compression test. The engine had no compression, we stopped at that point to ask what she would like to do, she didnt answer the phone so the vehicle was pulled out of the shop. We estimated the engine replacement options with reman or a used engine option. She declined the repair so she was offered the repair bill cost and 500 extra to purchase the car, she declined that also. ***** was visably upset because her husband was ill and slammed the door before we had any ability to speak with her further. she was unable to pay the dianostic bill for awhile. I stored the vehicle free of charge until she was able to pick it up. Had ***** been rational and communicated politely we would have helped her more than we already have. Also my entire staff will attest to the fact that I was polite and in no way threating to her, im sad to her she has said this.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

This man is blatantly lieing. I paid the bill in  full when I went and picked up the car. I had no problem whatsoever with paying the bill I counted out $500 to him.I had been in touch with him on several occasions concerning my car .I told him on the phone that I did not want to take his deal with giving me $500 and paying off the bill ,and I did not want him to touch it anymore that I would be coming to get it. I never slammed the door or yelled or anything I kept my composure. I never once gave them permission to take my engine apart. When asked if they were going to put it back together he said it would be another 300 plus dollars. When I told him I needed to step outside and talk to my husband he became very irate and started yelling at me to put my husband on the phone, which I did not. The spark plugs were laying up by the windshield on the outside of the car the parts that they took off of the engine were thrown in the back seat in  a haphazardly array. I just can't believe that people would do this to other people.

    Sincerely,

I have ran a professional automotive repair business for 10 years on my own and 10 years working for other shops. Unfortunately people do not expect for thier cars to break down, a breakdown never comes at a good time for anyone. It is a stressful time for my customers but we are here to help get you going again. We deal with people in need alot most times people are thankful, sometimes when its a major problem people get overwhelmed. I have witnesses to back up how ***** acted that day. I understand how customres feel and take account for that when they are here. Breakdowns can be financially devistating so i am very calm and helpful even when people get upset. ***** acted poorly to her situation I cannot control her actions. Im not offering a refund, I was patient and polite feel free to call my staff and get a statement from them.
