August 9, 2023. I was looking at a 2018 Ford Focus. The salesman stated he would not take my car for trade in. He showed me some numbers, what it was going to cost me. I wasn't happy with the results. I didn't have a down-payment. I was talked into a down-payment of $2000 charged to my Discover card. He proceeded to write up the loan, adding options I didn't want or need. I'm a 71 yr old woman living on SS. He was aware of my financial situation. This loan should have never been wrote up.

Thank you for informing us in this matter. I have looked at the purchase agreement. The down payment that was needed was not what the Dealership needed or asked for. This was a requirement set by bank in order to complete a loan as per the customer's request. When a bank sets up loan parameters, we simply inform the customers of the banks conditions in order to complete a loan for them. It is up to the customers at that point to decide whether or not they wish to move forward with the loan. All the terms and conditions were clearly explained and gone over with our customer. There were multiple documents explained and signed by the customer going over all details and conditions of the bank loan. We are sorry to hear that our customer is having financial difficulties. We wish them the very best.

      Thanks for your time!

Arnie's Ford is not a financial lender. If a down payment is necessary, it would only be because a lender requires it from a customer in order to complete a loan. We cannot control what terms any banks asks from a customer. Money down from a customer can be requested for many reasons such as to lower a monthly payment. As for honesty, the flyer terms and conditions were clearly posted on it. We do not lie or ever intend to deceive any customers for any reason. I am sorry that the customer feels like they did not receive good service. Our goal is always to provide the best customer experience possible.

Thanks for your time in this matter.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

This has NOTHING to do with the flyer. I was asked twice by  salesman from Texas for a downpayment. Since when does a bank request a down-payment? How does a bank set parameters when they know NOTHING about my financial situation? NOTHING was explained to me at all, if it had been I would have NEVER agreed. I felt totally coerced. Not only that, I  couldn't just leave, they had my driver's license, my Discover card.

      Sincerely,

We received a flyer from this company and when we did the scratch off it said we won $100,000 or two vehicles. When we took it in, they said that wasn’t true and it was an invitation to come in. Then they had us “spin again”, said we won $5 and gave us $4 worth of lottery scratch offs where we didn’t win anything. We also found out that the coupon for the down payment for financial assistance is because the bank has a $3000 fee that they charge to finance the loan. I have the documents verifying all of the above.

This was an insured event. The flyer clearly shows and states that the numbers must match the secured winning prize number. Because it is an insured event, we hope that all of the prizes will be claimed as it is good for our guests as well as our business. I am sorry that the customer feels this way. If their number would have matched the official prize number then they would have received the prize.  Thank you for your time.
