We were working with **** ******, ***** Frame (W.H. Silverstein, Inc.) for several years on a house plan for our Vermont farm. We repeatedly made clear our budget was in the 600k-650k range for this project and Mr ****** assured us that it was very doable, and he had "a lot of builders we could choose from" to finish the building on site. We paid close to 5k for the design of the home. We could not get access to the finished building plans until we paid 10% down, which was about another 26k. After considerable effort, we finally found a builder willing to talk to us. His estimate came in at around ****. Based on this information we changed plans, again with assurances from **** ****** that THIS plan would keep us within our budget. A quote for about 268k was sent to us. We made a few changes and asked for a new quote to reflect those changes. At this point we no longer trusted **** ******, so we began a discussion with VP ****** ****. On January 22, 2025 I had a 16 minute discussion with Mr. **** about the situation. He assured me that a new quote would be issued by the following Friday, and if we couldn't find a builder to do the project in our price range, he would issue a refund. AT this point Mr. **** ghosted me and was never heard from again. Calls on 2-10, 2-18 and 3-5 were ignored. I feel strongly that **** ****** purposedly deceived me to get the second payment of about 26k, and considering Mr. **** promised me a refund, we'd like it.
