Mr. D***** performed siding and was contracted to do this through Lowes. The work is incomplete but aside from that my home is damaged. Walls, plaster and paint were damaged by Mr. D***** in 4 rooms of my home. He took my gutters and drainpipes from home and garage. He took the number 8 from my front door. Many breakable family heirlooms were broken. I was told several weeks ago there would be a claim put in with his insurance. Just a few days ago I was contacted and provided detailed information to the insurance agent. He said to continue the process he needs to speak to Mr. D***** about what happened, but Mr. D***** does not respond to his calls. I need Mr. D***** to respond to his insurance company in order to move forward and repair my property.

Mrs. ******** is correct in that we did in fact replace her existing particle board siding with new vinyl siding as a sub contractor for Lowe's. Her purchase contract is with Lowe's whom in turn hired us to installation only. We removed the existing siding and gutters. The old siding was cleaned up and disposed of as necessary. A full clean up was performed at the end of each day to consist of raking, leaf blowing, magnet and hand pick. The original gutters were set aside to be reinstalled once complete. During the removal process one of the homeowners kitchen cabinets opened and some glasses fell out. This was due to the banging on the walls to remove the existing siding ( to be expected). Also due to the vibrations the sheetrock compound covering the nails/screws in a few spots popped off creating small areas of touch up the size of a pencil eraser. During the installation Lowe's had incorrectly ordered materials requiring us to leave and return to complete the installation once the remaining materials were supplied as we were contracted for labor only. During the time we were gone Mrs. ******** had someone dispose of the existing gutters which were stored on the side of her garage in the fenced in yard. During the install we supplied 2 fence posts, fence section and a fence gate to rework the fence as the original installation of fence had the gate attached to the house with hinges, all of this was done at no charge to her. ( FREE). The project has long been completed, we took absolutely none of items as accused of doing so. Lastly if there was an agreement with Mrs. ******** and Lowe's for new gutters that would have been installed by a different company.

      Complaint: 17780120

I do not accept the business's response as a resolution to my complaint because:

      Each day that
Mr. D***** and his crew were at my home siding I spent hours cleaning up their mess
when I arrived home from work.  In
addition to siding debris, nails, boards, screws, there were water bottles and
cigarette butts in my front/back yard and driveway (see attached pictures for a
sampling of this).  All this mess was
extremely hazardous to my young puppy.
He puts everything in his mouth.
      Mr. D*****
did not inform me in advance of this work that I should empty kitchen cabinets
or cabinets in my garage.  Both the kitchen
and garage had damaged valuables as a result.
If this is to be expected as Mr. D***** states in his response, then why
didn’t he suggest emptying all cabinets to begin with?  I asked him about this, and his response was,
      “This never happened before”.
      I did not
have someone dispose of my gutters and drains.
I did ask someone to move this from the backyard to the side, because there
were many pieces scattered on the ground from this and many sharp pieces, all
of which was hazardous to my puppy.  Mr.
D***** was not working on this job for several weeks, yet the mess was left for
me and my family to deal with.
Additionally, this one gutter Mr. D***** has referenced was not the only
gutter on my house and garage.  I now
      have zero gutters.
      Mr. D*****
also took my house number when he removed my former clapboard siding and now
when I receive deliveries or when someone comes to my home for the first time,
they are not sure if it is the correct house because my number 8 was never put
      back.
      Mr. D***** and
or his crew did in fact nail my side gate in the back yard to the garage siding
      (I will attach a photo).
      Walls were
damaged in 4 rooms of my home by Mr. D***** and his crew.  I was told by Lowes and Mr. D***** initially
that he would do the repairs, but he did not do this.
      The project most
certainly is not complete.  Lowes sent an
installer out to inspect the work and he found so many problems with the
workmanship of the siding that he stated the entire job would need to be done
over and thus Lowes reordered materials.
      Mr. D*****
is liable for the damages and items taken from my home.  He needs to contact his insurance company and
take care of this ASAP.  This has gone on
      way too long.
      Valuables
were broken, gutters and drains taken and not returned, my house number was
taken and not returned, and 4 rooms of my home had plaster/paint damage, as
well as a broken picture frame.  Mr.
D***** needs to respond to his insurance company in order to move forward and
      repair my property.

      Sincerely,

      **** ********

        Complaint: 17780120

I do not accept the business's
response as a resolution to my complaint because: I included photos of the
gate/fence area in my backyard where D***** and or his crew nailed to the
garage siding.  I attached photos of the
mess left by D***** and his crew, as well as a quick photo taken by my
neighbor, who rescued my puppy from all the broken glass in my home from D******* crew.  I just need this to get taken care of.  Maybe D***** was not on the premises when
these issues occurred, but the fact is it happened and now it needs to be
      rectified and done with,

The store that contracted Mr. D*****, also acknowledged all the problems with
this siding install too, as they contracted another outside party to review and inspect the job.

      Sincerely,

      **** ********
