We purchased a 15-week-old Mini Australian Shepherd from this store, and within days, he developed serious respiratory symptoms. Just three days after bringing him home, he was rushed to the emergency vet and diagnosed with life-threatening pneumonia caused by kennel cough. The veterinary staff informed us this was a pre-existing condition and advised we contact the seller immediately. When I called, the young woman who answered became cold upon hearing my concerns and said the owner would reach out. The owner did call but showed no concern or empathy for the puppys condition. Despite sending him the official treatment plan showing our puppy was on oxygen and fighting to survive, he deflected responsibility and suggested I pursue the hospital for charging too much. At no point did he show compassion or concern for the dogs well-being.After multiple attempts to resolve this amicablyincluding requests for a full or partial refund, or even returning the puppywe were met with refusal and threats of a countersuit if we pursued small claims court. Our puppy is now a cherished member of our family, and we are doing everything we can to save him. So far, we are over $6,000 in medical debt on top of the $2,900 purchase price that the store refuses to refund or even partially credit. This experience has been emotionally and financially devastating, and we urge others to be cautious.

We had your puppy in our care for 31 days. During his stay with us, he was nothing but happy and healthy.  He saw a vet on a weekly basis clearing him of any health issues and he received his vaccinations prior to going home.   Unfortunately, if a cold developed within four days of being at your home, you are responsible for his well being and you have the right to decide whether or not the veterinarian charges are reasonable.  When I spoke to you on the phone your attitude towards the situation was nonchalant.  You never expressed any real concern towards the issue you claimed even as I told you the charges would not be covered per State law and the contract you signed. You stated the day after we spoke that your puppy was fine and ready to go home therefore this was never a life threatening situation. I did suggest that you have a conversation with ****** ********************* regarding the unreasonable charges you received. I do believe if you went to any other vet this would never have cost you so much. However, once you take a puppy home you are free to make your own decisions regarding vet care. We are happy to hear that he is again happy and healthy.

Id like to clarify a few key points. We had our puppy from Saturday evening until Tuesday, when his condition became suddenly severe. He was rushed to the emergency vet that night and remained hospitalized through Friday while fighting for his life. We were only able to bring him home Friday evening to continue recovery. He was not fine and ready to go home, as you stated. He began coughing shortly after purchase, but it was mild at first. When it became concerning on Tuesday, we sought immediate veterinary care. The vet implied that it was a pre-existing condition, most likely kennel cough that progressed into pneumoniaa known risk in high-exposure environments, such as a pet store.I did not request reimbursement for vet bills, fully understanding the legal limitations. I only asked for a partial refund under the 14-day health guarantee, which I felt was fair given the severity and timing of the diagnosis.During our phone call, I was calm and professionalnot nonchalant. I was focused on addressing a serious situation. It was disappointing that no concern was expressed for the puppys health. Had there been more empathy or willingness to compromise, we would not have needed to continue this conversation further.
