I just concluded a project replacing 8 windows in my house. Unfortunately, I have been disappointed with my experience working with RBA Vermont. After dealing with a very attentive salesperson at the start of my project, the entire install process from start to finish was full of delays, errors, a lack of communication, and an absolute lack of accountability. A project that should have taken 2 days took 3 months because of an install crew that arrived late, left early, and left many things not finished. From the inside, the windows look great; from the outside, things do not look professionally finished. Promises to get back to me within 1-2 days to complete the install were not kept, and it was left up to me to follow up for weeks in order to keep the project moving along. Repeated attempts to speak with a manager to discuss my concerns, both about the installation quality and completion, were ignored. At the end of the process, there were no apologies.I have no doubt about the quality of the windows, but the professional best-in-the-business installation that *** promises was absolutely not consistent with my experience. In my opinion, the headache and high price tag are not worth the hassle. I will not be using *** to finish the remaining windows and doors on my house, nor would I recommend them to others.

Don't answer phones half the time. Poor communication. Lost a check. Raised price by $5k. Cashed 3 days after I cancelled my order via email and phone. Dozens of calls and still waiting to get a refund. Stay away.

Never buy from Anderson Window as they sell junk. In June of 2019 they installed door 1. It was falling apart. Replaced with door 2 in August 2019. Suppose to be custom made. Not. 1 inch smaller all around. They had to put band aids on the inside. 2 ½” trim to 3 ½” and a 1 inch to fill gap adjoining the floor. This door has clamp marks between the two pieces of glass, the rubber gasket is coming apart, occasionally the outside window fogs up, when the sun is beating on it you have to fight to open the door, the paint on the screen door is coming off, just to name a few. There is a 20 year warranty. With so many issues I wanted the door remove and my money back. They will not do that. They will come and fix the issues. Why would I want junk replaced with junk and every couple of years for the next 16 have to have fixes. Stay away from them. My rant for the day. When you spend $5,500 you expect quality.

Terrible product and service. We used RBA on a prior project (in VA) and it was great. In Vermont, they started what was supposed to be a 5-day door and window install in January 2023 and as of mid-April, it is still not complete.
They have NOT been back to do any work in 3 months. We spent days painting all the “specialty” trim they were supposed to use around our front door, but they wound up cutting it all wrong. And, the hardware for the front door FALLS OFF, as in - the handle comes off the door when you try to open or close it.
Windows have manufacturer defects with screws coming through them. Contractors working on other projects @ our home have pointed out how shoddy the work RBA has done is - including cutting pieces of window trim too short and instead of using wood putty for nail holes, used an unpaintable silicone caulk which needs to be removed.
This has been a NIGHTMARE. We waited 14 months for these “high quality” windows, paid tens of thousands of dollars - and would NEVER use RBA again. Had they at least tried to make a good faith effort to make things “right” we’d have more grace. But that has yet to happen. Despite our numerous requests to the service manager - we have no idea when the project will be complete. I’ve told them they have until end of April or I will have a contractor (or *****) remove everything and install new windows and doors. RBA can pick up their crap product; it’ll be out with the trash.

We did an install on their home on February 6, 2023, and we could not finish the job due to issues. Unfortunately, the crew never gave the information to the Service Department and he did not find out until the Homeowners called into the office. Our Service Manager has been in constant contact except for when he was on vacation to make sure that they are in the loop and also wanted to go to their home to look at the work and makes sure we get everything done for them properly this time. We have placed the order and are awaiting product to make sure some of the fixes are done and to also get them different hardware since they did not like the first pick. Our Service Manager has been talking to the husband and he has been very pleasant to work with and he is working with us diligently to make sure we finish the job perfectly.

    Bureau Response

In regards to the response received by RBA as it pertains to the feedback I provided: to set the record straight: the install started in January for what was supposed to be a 5-day install. The crew arrived by 0900 every day and left by no later than 1530; they were at our home for four days, before packing up everything and leaving because of a snow storm expected the next night…. not the next day - the next NIGHT. There was no reason they couldn’t have been here during the day to wrap things up. Instead, they came back on Feb. 6 and did an absolute hack job by cutting all the trim incorrectly, and leaving all the windows and doors on the front side of our highly visible house looking like a dump. There would be GRACE if I once felt like this project was a priority for RBA. Instead, it’s been one issue after another. The fact that no QA/QC on the order seemed to occur before it went out: all the hardware was mismatched, the door handle was not what we ordered (and falls off!!), there was a screw through the window. To the install - showing up later and leaving earlier every day. A supervisor stopped by one day to drop donuts off for the crew, but never checked in with us…could have been as easy as, “Hi, I’m (insert name); how is this project progressing? If you need anything, let ME know.” To coming back several weeks AFTER the install began, on Feb. 6 to cutting the wood incorrectly that we had spent time and money to pre-paint. Non paintable caulking! To not turning in paperwork and thus, not having any indication that there was a problem for several weeks, when I reached out and asked WHEN WILL THIS BE DONE? That was late February; it’s now mid April and still have no guarantee when it will be done. I’m prepared to take these doors and windows out because they are the first round we were planning to install and I want everything to be consistent. There’s no way I’d go through this headache with RBA again on the next batch of doors & windows we still need.
