I contacted Michael m**********, that works for Pater on behalf of water leakage that has been going on since the association put new siding up. I have been in my condo for 6 years now. I never had issues or water damage until they did the siding. He told me if it’s clear the water came from the outside it was their problem and they would fix 100% of the damage caused to my unit. I sent 10 emails explaining with pictures, and videos of it raining out and the water pouring into my unit. In which was dragged out for 7 weeks. At week 3 they finally had MGS come out and fix the outside so no more water could enter my unit and the siding company stated that “the association wanted the siding done that way and there was nothing under the siding around my AC unit outside, that was keeping the water out.” This was 100% the association at fault and they did nothing to take responsibility. Finally week 6 I said I had enough and needed an answer and he told me all board members were on board and they would fix my unit. Week 7 he emails me to say one member backed out until another contractor came out to give a second opinion, in which Michael and the same contractor came into my unit and they both said it was on the association. I also had my own contractor come out and say that, that amount of water could only have come from the outside. It also only leaks when it rains! My wall is soft to the touch, my flooring is pulling up on my second floor and I have water damage on the first floor ceiling. He then emails me to say that the association agreed to pay half. In our contract it states that if damage is done to our units due to the outside work, the association is 100% liable. Water damage should be treated like an emergency and nor did Michael or the board members care about the damage that was done to my unit. 3 contractors saying it came from the outside, 10 emails explaining what happened with several pictures and videos and that wasn’t enough for them. What they did is not right and goes against their own contract.
