I've been charged twice a month since January 2023. This equals almost an $800 overcharge. I now find out this is happening to others. If you have autopay they are overcharging. I want a check with the difference. I do not want it credited to my account.

The bill was more than double the usage trend. they need to issue a credit and its taking months.Business Response

We have reviewed the complaint and determined that the usage while higher than last year is not excessive. We have sent a technician out who confirmed there were no leaks and the meter was reading correctly. At this time there is no refund due to the customer.

The business has in no way tried to make this right or even bothered responding to emails. I paid 165 (100 was previously paid via another money order on a total of 265 bill) towards our gas bill via money order and the company providing the money order says that is was cashed by Liberty. They failed to respond before the due date and I did not want our payment to be late so i paid the remaining online. I provided the company with the money order number and date is was cashed by their company. Their customer service has been sufficient in every possible way.Business Response

My Wife called to disconnect service and customer service hung up on her multiple times to notify company home on was sold and reps where mean and disconnect calls . Then my wife conference me on the line and call was disconnected mid way.. So I call back & spoke to a rep requested to disconnect service and proved my forwarding address. Now im still getting bills for the new home owners because liberty saying they have no records of my calls and i made calls from 3 different lines 2 personal numbers, work# . I got all official documents and even when they look at new homeowner closing document they will see they property is no longer mines and I just dont understand why it was not disconnected the shut off ban was lifted 2021 ...I will like for liberty to bill this to the correct personBusiness Response

I have been getting bills from Liberty Utilities New York

I have been trying to make a payment over a month with their garbage website but the payment does not go through. I can't even make a new account. I get errors saying my account already exist but no login works. I can't even retrieve my account details. Before when this was with AM Water, it worked perfectly. Liberty Utilities is garbage and I wanted to point that out and want any late fees refunded ASAP. Fix your amateur website please. Hire real professionals if you plan on staying in business.Business Response

I have been a customer of liberty utilities for about seven years. I always paid my bill via check and mailed it because it was cheaper than paying the fee to pay online. Last year, I started receiving my bills on or after the due date, so I was getting charged a late fee. I called and had it switched to auto pay, which I did not want to do because it could be a very expensive bill, but it was the only way to ensure that I did not get charged a late fee. Now they are automatically debiting from my checking account without sending me an email notifying me of the amount/when it will be deducted from my account. I also go online to look at my bill to be sure I am being charged correctly and it says there is no bill to view. So I have no warning of being charged the amount and I have no way of viewing a bill to be sure I am being charged correctly unless I make a reminder to myself to call them and request a bill. This must be some sort of violation of a law or regulation. My friend that lives near me has the same issue.Business Response

Today is 01/14/22 and I just received a bill from Liberty, the problem? I received a bill last week as well. Last weeks bill indicated I had a credit of fifty two dollars, this new bill states I owe 83.39. Online it states my gas usage is up 101 percent more than last months, I had over paid before and now it is sounding like some one made an error, really tired of this, they need to hire people that can actually read a meter..Business Response

Starting on 1/3/23 I noticed that my gas bill witch is auto drafted out of my bank acct. was 187% higher than normal. Per my acct it still appeared that 0 therms have been used. I called up Liberty Utilities (LU) to find out why my bill was so much. They did not have an answer other than I have used 28 therms, but would send someone out on 1/4/23 to reread my meter and to call back on fri 1/6/23.I informed them then that I currently have no appliances that are using gas and am not currently using gas. Called back to find out the results only to find out they never showed. Appt rescheduled for 1/9/23 and to call back 1/10/23 to find out again. Called tuesday for them to show that there was movement in the meter, again I told them I currently have no appliances using gas please look at the history. History shows I have had 0 therms used since April of 2021. They then set an appt for a further inspection set today 1/16/23, was told they could not set a time for when they may be here so have waited all day with no phone call and noone showing up. Tried to call at 4:58pm to find out their offices have been closed for the holiday. I have repeatedly told them every conversation that I have concerns with a gas explosion if they are insisting on have used that much gas with nothing in my house currently using gas. They have not seemed concerned in the least, 2 appts they never showed for, no call backs, and so far no further investigations.Business Response

Over the past two weeks I have made multiple calls to Liberty trying to get a bill. I’m missing bills from November and December. The customer service staff is very unprofessional. The first few phones calls they insisted I was the only one with this issue. I found out this is a Liberty issue. I’ve spoken to two supervisors who assured me they would call me back with a resolution. To date I’ve not received a phone call or a bill.Business Response
