We met with Mr. Corallino almost 2 years prior to receiving an invoice dated Aug 11th, 2022 I called Mr. Corallino to ask what the charges are for? We did not use him for services to file taxes He set up an appointment asking me to bring in previous years taxes. The first 30 minutes of our meeting was discussing all of the paraphernalia he had from famous people all around his room explaining how they are all tax deductions for him. Then for about 30 m we discussed items for us in our 2020 return filing in 2021 as my husband just started a small business as a Home inspector. That business didnt bring in or brought in very very little money and didnt need to use a CPA to file. Never was it discussed that our meeting had a fee - almost 2 years later we receive invoices - I called him after recieving it - he never called me back - but instead sent me another letter in the mail Dated Aug 16, 22 - i called AGAIN & left him a message to have an adult conversation about this. Instead of Mr. Corallino calling me - he called a collegue of his that referred us to him to email us - Jason C*****. Mr. C***** then sent us an email on Aug 25th, 22 - in which i replied to him also on 8/25 - stating that i believe Mr. Corollino is completed unprofessional & cannot have an adult conversation about a meeting that took place 2 years prior & i would just pay his $295. Today Mr. Corollino sent me an email asking where his funds are. I sent them through Bill pay. I would like to get my money back since there were absolutely no services rendered at all for this & nor was there any conversation about sitting down with him about a Fee to sit there & chat.

    Statement of Facts:

On November 17, 2020 I received an email from **** *********** requesting an appointment with me to discuss ******* her husband, starting a new home inspection business. "We are unsure of the tax benefits/disadvantages of setting up a sole proprietorship versus a partnership versus a corporation." We met on 12/1/2020 for one and a half hours of which she was billed for one hour* **** brought in their 2018 and 2019 tax returns so we could input them into our tax software to have basis to prepare their 2020 return. Inputting the returns took 1.75 hours for which she was not billed. We bill clients for the time devoted to their task, in the case of new clients we hold all billing with the anticipation of preparing their tax return in this case ****** 2020 tax return. The final deadline with extensions for 2020 tax returns was October 15, 2021. **** was billed on August 11, 2022 when it was determined that she and ****** did not want the firm to assist in future filings. The 12/1/2020 meeting was filled with extensive tax questions Including but not limited to allowable deductions, record keeping, entities, and retirement plans.

**** left two voicemails, one on August 15th and one on August 24th. In each one she repeated that a meeting was "the cost of doing business." In a letter sent to **** and ****** on August 16, 2022 it was explained that tax professionals bill based on time devoted to the client's task. On August 25, 2022 **** wrote in an email "I will be sure that he gets his money." On September 6, 2022 **** stated "the money was sent through my online bill pay" She also wrote "I pondered dropping off $295 in pennies." **** *********** had agreed to pay for the billable time expended to her concerning his new business. As of this date no payment has been received. Now she wants her money back that we have not received. In essence, she does not want to pay for the professional help that she requested, received, and had agreed to pay for.
