    Core Medical Group (CMG) sent me on an assignment in Hilo, Hawaii at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Hospital. The length of the contract was supposed to be from 10/16/23 until 1/22/24 (15 wks). I was told I would be re-imbursed for ANY out of pocket expenses on my first paycheck. Therefore, I paid for a rushed health assessment out of pocket. I was cleared by Yukio began work on 10/16/23. I worked for 8 days and received a call on 10/26/23 stating that I was being pulled from contract because I didn’t have a Hawaii license, which CMG knew before I went. Out of state nurses work under the Emergency Proclamation Act that ensures us to work until our Hawaii license are processed. I asked Spencer, the CMG manager about reimbursement for flights and how was I supposed to get home. He gave me nothing of comfort. Spencer said I had to submit request for reimbursement and it MAY be granted! I live in Georgia and was very low on income which is why I accepted contract initially. I did what Spencer asked but only got reimbursed for $500! That’s it! Nothing for my licensure or my trip home or housing!!. I was told that all those reimbursements were pending that I complete contract which is ridiculous since it was CMG's fault, not mine that I didn't finish the contract because they pulled me. I missed out on several job opportunities being in Hilo and left the job I had prior to leaving for Hawaii hoping for a better opportunity. I was devastated about how they treated me. No one has called to even see if I made it home safely but a recruiter did call offering other contracts - UNBELIEVABLE!! CMG never paid my living expenses AND wanted to take it from my last 3day check that I had to get back home on. I have emails and proof of everything. I pray that no other nurse come across this situation because it really devastated me! I have been a nurse for 20+yrs and have never encountered this type of courtesy or poor professionalism in my life!!
