Over $11k for a simple transport with no medical treatment. $11,111.25 JUST TO DRIVE TO THE HOSPITAL WITH NO OTHER SERVICES. Absolutely criminal pricing.

Due to HIPPA, I cannot respond with exact details. This statement is untrue "JUST TO DRIVE TO THE HOSPITAL WITH NO OTHER SERVICES".  There were services needed this was a very serious transport.

Living in Somersworth NH, Stewart Ambulance is the only game in town. The city does not have its own paramedics as some communities do. My husband called 911 as it appeared I may have been having a heart attack. I was transported to the ER. However, the bill I received was just over $4,000. There wasn’t any critical care that was given aside from blood pressure, oxygen, monitoring. This charge is exorbitant!!! When I called the billing department to request an itemization of the charges, I was told that is just their rate!!! Regardless if there is any insurance coverage how can this happen? This is purely price gouging because there is no competition. I will be sending communication to the City of Somersworth, NH state rep, as well as US state rep and Senators.

Again!!! This isn’t about insurance. This is 1/2 of the equation. The dispute here is about price gouging!!! Only to have them inform me that there was a billing error. Very convenient. Even with the billing adjustment the cost is still astronomical. Doesn’t matter if they under contract with the City if they can charge what they want

Stewart's is contracted with the City of Somerworth, NH. Patient's insurance was billed however, the insurance did not pay any of the invoice and was applied to the deductible. Notes in the system 1/19/2024 states the patient was going to call the insurance company to appeal. No updates, normally it takes 45 days to receive decision from insurance company. Stewart's does offer discounts once the insurance has sent the EOB with final decision.

Ambulance worker accused, assumed my service dog was in training, stated that if in training can't go into public. Verbally Corrected my service dog for barking 2 barks, which let's me know I'm having high anxiety to warn me to stay calm before I react my techicardia which was at 114 beats when they were here. Later after they left went to 148 beats per min. The Ambulance person assumed my dog was a she. But the Ambulance person then assumed he was barking at her and called him naughty and corrected him without my permission. I was denighed my right to Ambulance to hospital because of my service dog because the Ambulance worker stated my service dog was not allowed. She also assumed my uncle and i had covid, she not a doctor. My service dog has been to hospitals, doctors offices, and many other establishment with me and my peer support through ********* My dog is fully trained for Me. When the Ambulance came I was in an agoraphobia attack plus ptsd. I plan on filling this report with as many places and people who will listen. I was having afib and your Ambulance people overlooked that based on being focused on my service dog and her bias remarks about him. My doctor is aware of this now too and is not happy. Discrimination
