    I had requested my account to be cancelled in June 2022, October 2022, January 2023 as I did not actively use the service. I have still been charged quarterly after every single request including today. They now offer a feature to cancel online which I did today when I was charged yet again. I would like to be refunded for at least the April-June 2023 dates I was just charged for. I am out over $400 over their lack of competence and feel like recouping $110 is more than fair.

    I had an account with Shaw Academy that I have not used in at least a year. They have been charging me 69.99 a month. I have tried to cancel my subscription but it wasn’t let me because if upskillset. I would like a refund.

    Hi Team,

    Reviewing our records, we see that the user had contacted us on October 09th requesting cancellation for the account: ***********@yahoo.com. Unfortunately, there is no account associated with this email address, and one of our representative requested the user to share & confirm the registered phone number or alternate email address. However, we didn't receive any confirmation from the user to assist further.

    Upon research, we found that the user had an account associated with the email address:***********@gmail.com and registered for our free trial on the following dates:

    Sign-up date: 09-Jul-2020 
    Charged/Renewal Date: Every 4 weeks
    Cancellation attempted Date before Renewal: No

    Reason for Charge:

    We provide a subscription membership that gets charged after the end of the free trial period and gets renewed every 4-week thereafter unless canceled. During the registration, we ensure this information is presented along with the renewal date and amount before the payment details are submitted.

    Since the cancellation process was not completed in your account before the end of your free trial, the user was charged for the subscription renewal as per our terms and conditions. (Refer to sections 8 & 9: https://www.shawacademy.com/terms/).

    We can confirm your membership is now scheduled to cancel ensuring no further payments will be processed. 

    Unfortunately, this transaction is non-refundable. However, we have reviewed your concern regarding the charges and discussed them with our seniors to find an amicable solution here.  Whilst we are working to make this right, we have refunded the last 3 payments back to the method of payment used at the time of purchase despite we are in no way wrong in this case as an exception. 

    The refund amount should be credited to the user's account within 3-5 business days if they have not raised any dispute with your financial institutions. I have attached the refund invoice along with this email.

    Shaw Academy is now called Upskillist. I signed up for a lifetime membership with Shaw Academy and have never been able to use it. When I first logged in, it talked about how they were transitioning to Upskillist. I never would have signed up if I knew that once the transition happened, I wouldn't be able to access any courses. So when I first signed up, none of the courses would load and I assumed it was because of the transition period so I waited. Then I went through a period of trying to log in and as soon as you click to log in to Shaw Academy, it comes up that it has transitioned to Upskillist and that I have to log in there but then it says I do not have an account there. I emailed "both companies" (which is really just 1 company) support and Shaw Academy responded with a link to allow me to log in. As soon as I log in, I can see my profile but if I click on "courses" (the only thing I would ever want to click on) it comes up that Shaw Academy is now Upskillist and that I can migrate to Upskillist. I click okay and it says I do not have an account. Essentially I was tricked into a lifetime membership that they knew would never work. Upskillist says, "Shaw Academy is a separate company" but they very clearly are not. My reply from Upskillist even stated, "we can see you emailed in to Shaw Academy's support." Something they wouldn't be able to see unless they were the same company. Set me up with a lifetime account on Upskillist so I can access the course content. Alternatively, I would like a refund of my lifetime membership. The card I used is no longer my active card so it would need to be to a new card.
