    On Dec 4, 2023, we used ******* to find someone to do some indoor repairs to our house. Some one from this company was supposed to come by at 8am that day. He showed up at 3pm and said that he was only there to look at the work that needed to be done and give us a quote. He was going to go home and then write up a contract. But he wanted a down payment of $650, which was provided by a check. He then said he would be there at 8 with his workmen and the supplies. He never showed up or called or texted. After several times of trying to reach him, he eventually responded that evening to say he had a death in the family. At that point we said we no longer needed his services and we cancelled the check. Joshua then knowingly went to a check cashing place and cashed the check. Once that company found out that the check was cancelled, they called him and he has disappeared. They are now coming after us for that money. for a JOB THAT WAS NEVER DONE.
    This man may have done this to others, take checks and then cash them at cash agencies.
    I would really appreciate any help in this matter. Not just to stop this man from robbing others, but i can't afford to pay for a job that was never done.
