On 3/25/2025 I purchased a 2016 from **** ****** owner of ************* in ******, ** for $11,060. After driving it for two days, we realized it wasn't running well. We had our mechanic inspect it on 3/31/2025, and learned that the vehicle had many problems, and wasn't safe to drive. The warranty is a "Dealer Warranty" for 30 days or 1000 miles. It says the dealer will pay for parts and labor for the warranty period. The **** Escape was advertised to have "excellent tires". When we test drove the car, they were decent, and when our mechanic inspected the car when we got home, the tires on the vehicle were BALD. They were clearly changed out before we picked it up.We learned by our mechanic that the vehicle had a rebuilt transmission which was leaking terribly. This rebuilt transmission was NOT disclosed anywhere. The seller told me and advertised that it was in excellent condition, and a clean title. He also told me that the vehicle had a 30 day warranty so I could take it to my mechanic and could return it if necessary. On 3/31/2025 a mechanic inspected the vehicle and told us it had been in a severe accident, was unstable and not safe to drive, front struts were leaking and loose, needed rear shocks, right suspension was bad, and it was swaying. (All repairs estimated to cost $5,000. I have a printed quote from the repair shop). We brought the car back to the seller on 3/31/2025, **** ****** (owner of *************), 6 days after purchase who advised he would provide us with a refund as soon as we can return the title to him. We agreed to that.On 4/3 he messaged me to tell me the car is repaired by his garage and we cannot return it for refund. Had I known the vehicle had a rebuilt transmission and been in a bad accident, I would NOT have bought it for my teenage son. The Car Fax report the dealer provided us with didn't show any problems. The seller clearly mis-represented this vehicle. The rebuilt transmission was leaking when we drove it off the lot.

I spent ****** dollars on a car, I am a single father who has full custody of my son so 10,00 is a lot to me. I was told the car had no mechanical issues. He sold me a bad car knowing that I cant get my money back for it after finding out that I have to pay more money to get car fixed then what I paid for it! I asked if he can fix the car for me and refused and said you bought a used car what do you expect. So I looked into the lemon law after the first two weeks I had to spend a 1000 dollars to get some work on it to make it drivable. I asked for my money back but he ignored me. I am from MA and the lemon law is different. He took advantage of me and sold me a bad car and refuses to work on the things that he didnt tell me what was wrong with the car. I reach out because I am stuck as a single father spending that money hoping I get a reliable car for me and me son so I can get the necessities in life but I cant afford to get car fixed and its on verge of breaking down I really need help! The guy that sold me the car played me
