    We first met with the owner on 4/26/23 regarding building custom window screens for half of our house. We added replacing a board on our deck and patching a spot on our ceiling to that, and were finally given a quote on 6/8/23. The amount totaled $540.00, and the quote expired in 30 days.

    It is July 12, 2023. We have one screen, half a patched ceiling that we now have to fix ourselves, and one board replaced on our deck. We initially paid a good faith deposit of $300.00 on June 8. Scott requested another $80.00 on June 18, and another $150.00 on June 20. We have paid out $530.00, and have almost nothing to show for it.

    Communicating with the owner has been a serious issue. He either doesn’t respond, or responds with an excuse as to why this work isn’t finished. When he has come to our home to install our screens, there is always an issue with how he measured them, so he has to get more supplies to make them again - hence the additional payments.

    He refuses to refund the money above the work he has done ($305.00) “after all the running around and time” he has put into building our screens, but we do not have our screens. We have one. So he has both our money, and our screens, presumably.

    I texted him on 7/6/23 and requested a refund of $305.00. He didn’t respond, so I texted him again on 7/8/23. He responded with the above quote re: not refunding, but offered to still come by on Monday (7/10/23) and drop off our screens. We agreed, as we just want what we paid for, and have been trying to get these since April. He did not show up Monday. He texted on Monday night and said he’d be in touch on Tuesday morning. We have not heard from him, we have no refund, we have no screens for our windows, and the work on our ceiling is not finished.

    We don’t know what to do. We need screens in our house or the $305.00 refunded so we can ask someone else, as I have a serious medical condition that becomes dangerous in the heat, which is why we began asking in April.

    Just as an update: we have not heard anything from the owner since we submitted our complaint regarding either giving us our screens, or refunding our money. It is now 7/17/23, and our last communication was on 7/10/23 when he stated he would text us the following day to let us know what time hed be over to give us the window screens we paid for.

    Hello,

    I am writing in response to a letter I received. I have not heard from the company as of today, July 27 2023, and I am not satisfied with the company's efforts to resolve this matter because he has literally made no effort. He has not contacted me or responded to BBB. He has stolen our money, and if he doesnt refund us through this process with BBB, I will have to continue with legal proceedings. It has come to our attention that this is not the first time he has scammed people out of money, so we have little trust that he will respond in a professional manner.
