      10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!I left Service Credit Union for Lighthouse Credit Union around 2019. Formerly Northeast Credit Union, the credit union did not have as many options or great mobile capabilities. Still, I was willing to sacrifice this for how I was treated at Service CU. Recently, the credit union changed its branding without solid notification to its customers. I found out when the application image changed on my phone. This was alarming and I had to do an internet search to find out more regarding the change. I have recently been looking at different bank options. During this process, I made the election through the mobile application to STOP the "courtesy pay" feature. This feature allows payment requests to be approved regardless of the funds available in the account. Unselecting this feature would automatically DECLINE any payment request for Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF). This was not the case as TWO automatic payments went through AFTER the feature was shut off. The two Electronic Funds Transfers (ETF) were coupled with TWO overdraft fees. The company has closed my account and expects me to pay them for THEIR error. When I spoke with a representative, they said that automatic payments would still go through regardless if this feature is active or not. NOWHERE does it state that in the fine print. The only part that is remotely CLOSE to what the representative mentioned is IF there were *** requests that were sent BEFORE shutting off the feature, then these EFTs may go through. This was not the case in my situation. I stopped using the feature two weeks before these recent ETF requests were made. However, to prove the timeline I would need access to my account information which is only available by request and would be sent by mail. How convenient for this company to safeguard their white-collar crime by revoking access like that. I guess a lawyer and subpoena is in order.

      To whom it may concern,

      On 11/21/24 Ms. **** contacted our ****************** for assistance with this matter. While Ms. **** did opt out of our Courtesy Pay feature, reoccurring monthly payments that have been agreed upon with a merchant subscription will still be processed since they are pre-authorized to be charged on a certain date. The representative she spoke with that day, did refund the two fees associated with these payments, but there are unresolved debts owed due to us paying the merchants for their reoccurring payments.

      While our rebrand did occur earlier this year, we did send multiple notifications to members regarding this change via email and physical letters. There was no merger or buy out, but simply a rebrand to align with our core values.

      At this time, due to the negative balance, Ms. ***** online banking services have been revoked until the debts are satisfied. We are more than willing to assist further with any questions or concerns including supplying her latest statement via email if requested.

      This bank is way bad they dont help you they will make loss the car after they aprove your loans never go behind not even a month behind with this bank they are thief my girl am I got aprove with this bank worts decision ever they never will understand your situation not matter if you get fire bad business care only about they cash ?? they even change the name of the bank to light house of thief hope you guys get punished for all the effort good people do useless people they are good to work with you will regret it light house

      Dear ******,

      I have reviewed your account history with the credit union. Our records show we had attempted to work with you regarding the loan. Our ***************************** reached out to you 18 times where they spoke to a live person, sent 14 emails that were responded to with an acknowledgement of debt and promise to pay, and 8 auto generated letters were mailed to the address on file, all prior to the repossession. The loan was 92 days past due, at the time the repossession order was sent.

      This was a really great credit union. When I first opened the account and within the last year I have been hacked one too many times between December 2023, and March 2024 I was hacked five times and without offer of any other service or help other than the money that was taken from me.

      I did took a loan with this ************* after a year paying for the car my mom passed away and I did when out the country for 2 weeks I missed a payment and they reported me to the credit bureau ***** ** **** you guys don’t know **** about life and trouble you guys think is easy to repossess a car someone is paying every month without failing the real enemy’s of this country are ******* bankers not politicians

      Have been a member of NECU for over 50 years. Have always enjoyed excellent service in routine banking matters and auto loans. Never had even a minor issue doing business with Northeast.

      One star is too good for them, my elderly mother in law has been with them for years with no trouble but over the last 6 months to a year or so, her car loan which has been set up for automatic payments keeps getting messed up the money is in the account but the bank can't seem to take it out on time, every month we go in the bank and they tell us it's all set and will come out and then it doesn't so far the car has been repossessed and she had to pay to get it back, then they tried to do it again after we went in there and they said yet again it shouldn't have happened, I have been in contact for 2 weeks with management and keep getting strung along with no results but more late fees , next step will be with lawyers I guess, so no I would not recommend this bank to anyone
