    BAD BUSINESS EXPERIENCE
Small project - shrink and copy a 100 year old photo of my great great grandfather Sea Captain and copy another 40 year old photo of his 1800’s sailing ship.
Told us it would be a few days.
We finally called them @ 7 days later.
    We were SHOCKED !
They told us we had already picked up the new prints BUT we had left the old photos there:
We DID NOT pick up any copies. Was waiting for their call.
And another Business issue : they did not give us a receipt. - they had no info on their computer about this copying project - they had my name and phone number but never called me.
The person who took our order said DEFINITIVELY that we had picked them up and paid cash . We DID NOT. Again, they had NO RECORD of who actually did pick up my photos. I was getting upset at their insistence and the person on the phone was abrupt and rude and said there was nothing left to say. She said we should come and get our photos. She did offer to reprint them …. But why would we ever trust them after this fiasco ???
    Who has my prints??? Unsettling.
BBB you are right on by not accredited the Southport Printing Co.

****** and her husband came in to place an order of copies of 2 family photographs. The husband came in a few days later to pick up the order. Our associate recognized him from the drop off (and that was the only photograph copy job at the time--most of our work is commercial work for businesses). Julia handed him the copies and he paid cash (it was just a few dollars), looked over the photos and left.
Our associate realized after he left we inadvertently forgot give back the originals and tried calling a couple times. She got a “mailbox is full message.”
****** called on 10/24 checking on the order and I told her it was completed and picked up by her husband but that we did still have the originals. She stated that was not possible and said we must have given her order to a stranger. She asked if we had record of who picked up by way of receipt. I told her the order was a quick copy job and paid for in cash so we would not be able to look that up in our system (we don't waste time writing up a whole work order for a cash-and-carry job for a couple of quick copies). As ****** states, she was getting upset on the phone, unsatisfied with our account that her husband already picked up the order. She demanded to know why we wouldn’t photo id a person that is picking up an order, as if someone wanted to pay for and take away her two color copies. Since we still had the originals and she didn't believe her husband already picked up the copies, we offered to reprint them (a very simple solution), and as she stated in her complaint, she declined.
****** than filed her complaint with the BBB.
****** came in a little while later to pick up her originals. At that time, we determined that our associate had copied her phone number down wrong, and that was why she wasn’t getting our phone calls. ****** suggested that the person that was getting the phone calls must have picked the copies up but we explained to her we only called the number AFTER the copies had been picked up and were not able to leave a message so that couldn’t have happened. Our associate specifically recalls that the husband who had dropped off with her was precisely the same person who picked them up. Plus, again, people don't pick up and pay for personal jobs that don't belong to them. ****** was very adamant that a stranger must have come in and paid for and taken her copies. After some conversation and more assurances, ****** was much calmer and left saying, “her husband may have some explaining to do.”
This complaint is unfounded and unfair and we respectfully request that it be revoked by the BBB.
