    Office saw me as a patient and accepted my insurance at check in and then informed me at the end of the appointment that they do not accept my insurance. I would like them to cancel the outstanding debt as they never should have seen me at all.

    History and relevant dates:

    On January 7, 2023 I visited the office of Portsmouth Internal Medicine, an office where I was a previous patient. I presented my insurance card and was given an appointment for an annual physical to establish a Primary Care Physician.

    On June 14, 2023 I presented my insurance upon check in a the appointment and nobody indicated that there was any issue. I had my appointment and upon check out the woman in the office informed me that they do not take my insurance. When I pointed to the woman who checked me in I was informed that she was "new and didn't know what she was doing."

    On Sept 5, 2023 After receiving a bill for $309.25, I called the office and was referred to the billing department. I spoke with C******* who referred me to L*****, a billing specialist. She agreed that I never should have been seen as a patient. She indicated that what she was able to do was to refer the claim back to the office and they should re-evaluate. She told me that I should receive a revised statement within 30 days. I received a statement in mid Otober for the same amount due. Nothing has changed.

    As I was not informed in January nor when I appeared for my June appointment that they do not take my insurance, I should not be charged for this appointment. I ended up having to start the process of finding a new Primary Care Provider again. This was a big waste of my time and effort.

    Please confirm that the debt has been zeroed out.
