    - Purchased a 200 hour online, self paced, Yoga Teacher Training with lifetime access (Feb 2019). Owner taught and supported.

    - $695 paid

    - Commitment from the owner/teacher to be available/accessible for student support and interactive feedback throughout the multi-modular 200 hour training.

    - Dispute: I completed the first module of the training (approx. 35 hours of work) and submitted the required notes, tracking, recordings via email asking for feedback. No response or acknowledgement. I completed the second module (approx. 35 hours) and submitted my work again via email, still waiting for and asking for feedback. No response or acknowledgement. I decided to stop the training due to feeling discouraged and unsupported. I finally reached out recently to the owner explaining my concerns about her complete lack of support and responsiveness during the training and that being the reason why I did not wish to continue, and asked for a refund. She replied that she does not offer refunds, and is often overwhelmed by how many clients she has and how busy her business is. She stated how much she values communication and that I should have continued to try to reach her. She offered as a resolution that I should simply complete the training. I responded that I should not - and did not want to - have to chase her down for a reply, and that a policy that protects overcommitted business owners from providing what they promised is problematic. She then responded that it seemed suspect for someone to contact her 3.5 year later (for something I paid lifetime access to), called me abusive and forbade me to ever contact her again. Respecting her (problematic) boundaries, I am contacting you for help.

This is my first time ever filing a complaint (or even sending a negative review). I do not have ill will towards this business owner, I am just hoping for some better accountability and repair in a situation that feels particularly egregious.

    Thank you.

Our recent email exchange is attached. I do not have access to her policies as I am locked out of my membership.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/27/2023

I am responding to *****s complaint.  I clearly state in my training that teacher trainees are to email and text me.
She submitted work once and I did not respond.

She reached out 3.5 years later wanting a refund.

I don’t offer refunds. It is stated upon purchase.  It is also 3.5 years later and I don’t know anything you can return after that long.

She is absolutely not locked out of her account. She probably needs to reset her password which I offered to do.

I stated that during Covid times it was difficult as a business owner. Not that I was overwhelmed from being so busy.

I offered for her to continue with the course as I’ve had over 300 happy graduates with zero complaints until this point.

She returned an email suggested training for me which I found off point and condescending. Hence calling out harassing and abusive behavior.

she is still welcome to complete the training any time and has lifetime access.

This training was also a gift from her then husband. She didn’t pay for it personally.

Again, my contact information is all over the training. I never received a call or text from her which you would think if it was this important to her she would do both if she didn’t get s response.

I also state in the training that no news is good news even you submit work. I will respond if I need the student to correct something or if something is missing.

Waiting 3.5 years for a response without ever sending more than the one email with her submitted work seems like a whole other problem that doesn’t belong here.
