On or about August 8-10th in 2021, I wired Reginald N of Unity Investment Holdings Corp. $10,000. Reginald, a supposed investor/trader, would use my funds to invest in crypto, stocks, forex. I would receive a statement each month detailing the profit, usually between 10-12%. Many months, I would leave the profit in the account so the funds could grow. Some months I would ask for half the profit to be wired to me. On December of 2022, I asked for the entire sum of my account $32,594 to be wired to me. Reginald stalled, avoided my messages, sent fake wire transfers. He soon admitted that he had fabricated the amount in my account and that he had lost all funds in trading. He admitted to having send false statements throughout the year. From January 2023 to April 2023, Reginald promised to send money as part of a financial recovery plan. In the end, no money came. In August of 2023, we received a note from his lawyer declaring that Reginald had no responsibility to return funds other than what was originally invested. This amount ($10,000) was not returned. I am part of a group of 5-10 individuals who invested with Reginald. My partner lost $10,000 with Reginald, my father lost tens of thousdands with him as well. Reginald personally advised him on a loan knowing very well that he would lose the money. We suspect that Reginald still has the money as we got no proof or documentation of his failed trading. In addition the the falsification of statements, Reginald sent my father fake tax documents. Reginald has squandered money I was hoping to use for my future home or to pay off student debt. Additionally, Reginald put many of us in precarious financial situations as we waited for our investments to be returned. We demand some sense of justice from this situation. Ideally, Reginald would be audited, but telling others of this scammer and fraud would provide us with some sense of justice. We are hoping the BBB can assist us.
