I was contacted by this company to join a solar community program that would offer 21% discounts to our JCP&L monthly electricity bill. Its been 3 months without any meaningful updates. I contacted *********** and they have no knowledge of this company or service, now I believe it was a scam. Can you assist me in investigating what the company is and if a scam have them to delete my personal information. I should have known better, so I apologize in advance.*** ******

    Business Response

    Date: 06/26/2025

Thank you for reaching out regarding the concerns raised by
Mr. Daniel Krevis about his enrollment in Solar Landscape’s community solar
program. We appreciate the opportunity to provide clarification and to reaffirm
both the legitimacy of the community solar program and our commitment to
    delivering transparent, reliable service.

Solar Landscape is a fully authorized and approved community
solar developer in the state of New Jersey. While we strive to ensure a smooth
customer experience, there are sometimes unavoidable delays in bringing
community solar projects online—particularly when coordination with utility
companies is involved. In this case, we are still in the process of finalizing
interconnection and operational requirements with Jersey Central Power &
Light (JCP&L). As of now, the project that had been assigned to Mr. Daniel
Krevis is not yet active, but we remain on track and fully committed to
launching the project by the end of this year.
For more context, these community solar projects will
operate for at least 20 years, and customers will receive substantial savings
over that time. In order to maximize the benefits of these projects, we aim to
get them fully subscribed by customers prior to commercial operation.  That subscription process takes several
months, and when combined with the difficulty of accurately predicting a
project’s commercial operation date, it is not uncommon for an early customer
to experience a lag between enrolling and receiving his first benefits.  And while we understand the frustration that
comes with waiting for benefits, the upside of subscribing early is that there
is a limited number of spaces in these community solar projects – i.e., people
who wait to sign up may find that there is no remaining space in the project.
Importantly, there is no added cost to a customer during this waiting period –
i.e., the customer’s bills remain the same as ever during that period. Rather,
a waiting period prior to commercial operation maintains the customer’s status
quo until the project is generating power; in addition, we launched a rewards program for our subscribers to provide an added
benefit for reserving their spot in a community solar project while they wait.

Since Mr. Krevis’ initial enrollment and inquiry on March 7,
our customer service team responded to all his inquiries in March, April, and
June, each time explaining the nature of the community solar project timelines.

We understand Mr. Krevis’s frustration and make every effort
to resolve customer concerns and complaints. We called Mr. Krevis on June 24th
to address and resolve his concerns. During the conversation, Mr. Krevis agreed
to the solution that was offered and stated that he would like to withdraw his
complaint. Please know that we are fully committed to honoring all program
benefits as soon as the project is active. Should you require supporting
documentation or further details, we are more than happy to provide them.

Thank you again for the opportunity to address this matter.

    Best regards,

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response.  If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

    Better Business Bureau:

So what really happened, Solar landscape and I discussed and agreed that documentation was not clear in any communication sent to me.  Starting with offer letter describing start date as soon, they also failed to mention there were different programs, some with discount others without all with different start dates. Turns out soon for Solar Landscape the original offer of soon is really1 to 2 years which I feel makes their offer letter misleading at best. In all my communications I have been asking for start date and Solar Landscape failed to provide the most likely estimated start date every time. Finally they couldn’t comment on why JCPL was unable to validate their relationship with Solar Landscape. So they told me my program was switched to a sooner one with start date of 2-3 months.  So with this new start date I am satisfied.  I don’t trust what the business in this reference wrote above in complaint ID 23493484, however I am satisfied.

    Regards,

    Dan Krevis
