    Business Response

My name is Nicole and I’m third generation of
family owned Camp Out Inc., a small family-run business proudly serving the
North Plainfield, NJ since 1972. We’ve built our reputation over the last 50+
years by providing honest, reliable service, and treating every customer with
respect. Our lead installer has been with us for 25 years, and we handle
numerous installations every week with care and professionalism. Our lead
installer was on the light job for Mr. Robert Krissoff’s truck.
When the installation was complete, the
customer himself did not come to pick up the truck. Instead, a representative
from his company arrived with a flatbed, reviewed the work, and saw that the
emergency lights were functioning as they should. At that time, there were no
complaints or mention of damage. If any lights were damaged, it did not occur
while the vehicle was in our possession. In fact, we have offered to replace
any lights that may have been damaged after the truck left our facility, but
the customer has not responded to this offer. We are more than willing to help
and that offer still stands! Of the $811 total paid, the majority of the cost
was for professional labor. The brand-new lights the customer selected and
approved were only $50 each, and were shown to him before installation.
Our team also cleaned up after the job, as we
do with all installations. We sincerely apologize if any small metal shavings
were overlooked, but we strongly dispute the claims about soda cans and sticky
seats. These conditions were not present when the truck
left our shop, and we cannot speak to what may have occurred afterward while
the vehicle was in the care of a thirdparty driver or being loaded on a tow
    truck.
MOST CONCERNING to us, however, is the claim
that our staff behaved inappropriately or judged the customer based on his
attire/sexual orientation.  The suggestion that anyone was looked at “weird”
because of a Pride shirt is completely false and deeply upsetting. Camp Out
Inc. is LGBTQ+ friendly…always has been, and always will be. We proudly serve
many LGBTQ+ customers and are fortunate to count members of the community among
our staff, friends, and family. To suggest we would treat someone differently
based on their identity or clothing is not only untrue, it’s harmful, unfair,
and defamatory to both our business and our personal values. We work hard to
create a welcoming space for everyone, and it is simply wrong to post or write
something that falsely accuses us of discrimination.
    Sincerely,
    Nicole
