UPDATE! The company was subcontracted by a real Estate investor in 2020-2021. They did the plumbing and HV** on the house we purchased in Jan 2022. (1st owner of newly renovated place; It was a "flip" completely renovated 2 bedroom , 2 bath.) The ** system was new when the install took place. Our inspection obviously was in early Jan and the inspector told us he didn't want to turn on ** because it is 30 degrees outside and didn't want to damage the system. Fast forward to June 2022, when we needed to put the air on , the system kicked on but there was no cold Air. I called a local HV** company , they came out that day and did their testing. They stated there was a leak in the suction and liquid lines going into the handler right were the soldering joint is and there is no refrigerant left. The cost was $270 for that company to come out and diagnose. They quoted me a ridiculous price to fix. I called my realtor, explained the situation, she got the seller involved as well. After a few weeks of back and forth (me, agent, seller and ****), ******************************* HV** and Plumbing decided to come out a take a look. **** was completely thorough in his inspection and found no leak. He had to fill the system up with refrigerant. (not sure where it went in the first place, maybe stolen?) Once filled, system was blowing out cold air and worked as it should. We are forever grateful that **** come out to our home. ( after the sale of the home, expired contractor warranty and out of his service area).. The ****** I learned from this experience is to get a home warranty regardless if it is new construction or not. Get safeguards in place before you get to closing
