I was told via phone that I could mail in a letter with my signature on it asking for my membership to be cancelled if I couldnt make it in to the gym physically. I mailed the letter in and received a phone call on 6/2/2023. They stated that I owed a balance from 2020 of 140 dollars. Heres what I dont understand about the balance. If you go back you can clearly see since 2020 Ive had a membership 2 times. So at the very least I had to be able to cancel at least once. Why wasnt I notified of this balance once I went to cancel on that time let alone when I went to get a membership the two times. And why do I have to continue to pay on something if I do owe the balance. Why cant I just cancel. I dont understand someone bullying me to stay with a contract or in my case renew a contract that I no longer want. I was once told it would be better to cancel your account before the 5th of each month or your bank will be charged on the 17th of the month. I was trying to avoid that. Also my contract renews soon. So my desired resolution is the cancellation of my account and if Im charged I want to be reimbursed going forward. Thats not fair. I asked to be cancelled so I should not hold any responsibility to any money owed going forward. Also I have no idea if this 140 dollars owed. And why *** just hearing about it. I would like that removed.
