Caution: Angelo C******* of Living Water Landscapes of New Jersey LLC is a Scam Artist!

I hired Angelo C******* for demolition and cleanup in my backyard to prepare for a pool installation. I paid him an initial deposit of $3,000, followed by another $2,000 for the agreed-upon work. He started the job and then suggested an additional project, which I initially agreed to for a $1,000 deposit.

However, he soon began asking for more money, even though he hadn't even completed 30% of the original work. I became suspicious and refused to pay more until he made significant progress. He became upset and eventually stopped working altogether.

Throughout our interactions, I made sure to communicate via text message to maintain a paper trail. At one point, he made a racial comment towards one of his employees in my presence. As a Hispanic woman, I found this extremely unprofessional, unethical, and demeaning.

It's clear that Angelo C******* is a scam artist. He's a smooth talker who will take your money and leave you with an unfinished mess. Don't waste your time getting an estimate from him – he won't fulfill his promises. I ended up paying another contractor even more money to clean up his mess and repair my yard.

On October 4, 2022, I gave a 50% deposit to living water landscapes to demolish and rebuild my porch. On November 4, 2022. The porch was demolished and framework begun for new porch. Additional monies were requested which I provided. In the seven months since then, no work has been done despite numerous texts. Mr. ******** always tells me he will be there tomorrow or this week for sure. After belatedly reading reviews, this is what he does over and over, he takes deposits but does not do the work. He has even been jailed in the past for theft by deception. I am a single retired, female, living on a fixed income. To hire another contractor as I have already given this contractor money would be a financial hardship. I want the job completed or the money that *** given returned.

On November 11, 2022 we signed a contract with ********************** of Living Waters Landscapes of **, LLC to rip up and replace our concrete sidewalks, rip up and repave our driveway, and replace our rear stairway for a total of $9000. In December he ripped up the sidewalk and took 3 months to finally put them back in. On April 3, 2023 they began to rip up the driveway. On April 7-8 they replaced the rear stairs and piled all of the broken asphalt in my yard, along with the old wooden stair case. Since then he has constantly put off coming to do the rest of the job (removing all the debris and repaving the driveway). Today he told ** to find a new contractor to finish the job. We are hoping for a return of part of our payments ($7000 to date) to put towards the new contractor. Obviously we know that work has been completed, we are only looking for the portion based on the cost of finishing the driveway.

To date only 50-60% of work has been finished.Even though he was paid nearly all of the money by Aug. 2022, he claims he doesnt have the money to complete the job
