We hired ***************** of Advanced Remodeling to renovate our home, including kitchen, mud room, roof line change, back eave overhang, front porch, large back stoop/steps, and other projects. During the demolition and construction process there were many issues and problems including but not limited to; failed inspections, stopped work, requests for additional monies, poor quality work, work not performed to blueprint specs, poor communication and response... My husband and I received word from *** and ********** in a phone call that *** had slipped and fell on some ice, hurt his back, and would not be able to complete the job. There was conflicting stories, more money requested, refusal to refund monies, no plan for a contractor to replace him, *** abandoned the job and left us mid-demo/construction. We ended up having to notify all of his subcontractors that *** was no longer our contractor and have them stop all work. We also discovered Advanced Remodeling had not been paying the subs. Our project sat for over 3 months while we searched for a new contractor to take on the project. We were unable to use our home for 9 months. *** never returned and monies, he took advantage of us. We were extremely traumatized by the incident and trying to just get our home livable again was difficult to say the least. Most of the work Advanced Remodeling and the subcontractors did had to be demo'd again and redone. We spent thousands of additional monies to fix the problems including $16,000 to have the back cement stoop removed and redone bc it would not pass inspection and was not built to the plans. A friend recently asked us if we reported the incident to The BBB and we did not know about that option. We have extensive records of the entire process including signed contracts, emails, text messages, and dates. We can provide all necessary information as needed or requested.
