Dwyer converted us from oil to gas heat and installed new AC. Their quote included a gas line as ours was too small. When they came out to install, they wanted more money for the gas line. I said no. The owner agreed to honor the quote so we proceeded. I should recognized the start of a shell game. At inspection, along with minor changes with the installation, we learned the installation had created an orphan with our water heater in the chimney requiring the chimney to be repaired and lined, an additional cost directly due to the installation of the furnace. Then the furnace started whistling. Dwyer then stated that the unit was working too hard because the ducts are too small to allow the unit to work properly. Then, the furnace started leaking. Dwyer came out and again stated that the furnace is working too hard because our ducts are too small and that the furnace won't last for its normal life expectancy nor is it getting the high efficiency savings due to working too hard to push air through the small duct work. We asked for a quote for new ducts and were told its a huge job, walls impacted, new basement door for venting, drywall work... $20K. I asked a new quote for the minimum to allow the furnace to work properly. Dwyer gave $12K to do the trunks in the basement feeding the rest of the house saying it's not this ideal but better than the current configuration. I feel lied to by Dwyer in order to get the original job. The furnace is not working properly and is still leaking after Dwyer repaired it twice. The furnace replacement cost about $14K but with the required chimney work ($5K) and duct work required for furnace to work appropriately ($10K) now will cost twice the original quote. We were mis-led about this entire process. The warranty is almost over and the furnace is still leaking and working ineffectively.

We had our air conditioner fixed. We signed up for a seasonal air conditioner check. When Dwyer Services came to check we had a working air conditioner, after the "check" we no longer had a working air conditioner. The service technician wanted to charge us another $300 to change a $15 part that he intentionally shorted, It was a holiday weekend. The technician suggested that I a woman disabled veteran with a heart condition replace it myself. He left me in the heat gasping for air. It caused me severe distress and I had to wait until my husband came home to put in the window unit so I could finally have some relief. With my heart condition, I was physically unable to put the window unit in myself physically. We called Dwyer services 2 times after to try to resolve the problem, but the woman on the phone dismissed us and told us it would be $150 to have someone come out to even look at a problem we didn't have until they created it. We called someone else and had it fixed. Dwyer has contacted my husband and me separately on more than one occasion to try to set up dates for more seasonal checks. We both have asked to be taken off their calling list, but they kept calling. I have blocked their number. After how I was treated I will never use their service again and it makes me angry when I hear their advertisement on the radio.
