I had owned a ***** chain saw for well over thirty years. However, it was starting to run poorly, so I went to Northeast Equipment in *********** and bought a new one. It was one of the worst purchases I have ever made. On page thirty-nine of the Instruction Manual, it states This machine is extremely simple and easy to start, even for children. I started trying to get the saw to start around four months ago. For the first couple of weeks, I probably was able to get it to start once. I gave up and took the saw back to Northeast Equipment. They kept it for over three weeks, without calling me once. I called them; they said they would have it ready in a few days. When I returned to pick the saw up, I was told that the saw had a faulty carburetor, and that a new one had been installed. I took the saw home and evaluated it. It started on the first day, but not after that. After a couple more harrowing weeks of trying to get the saw to start, I gave up and went back to Northeast Equipment. They kept the saw for perhaps a week. When I returned to pick the saw up, I was told that it was a bad coil, and that the coil had been replaced. I returned home and tried once again to get the saw to start. It would not. So, in a few days I went back to Northeast Equipment. I stayed with the service manager while he checked the saw out. All he could figure out was that it might be the spark plug. So, he gave me a new spark plug and sent me on my way. No surprise, the saw still does not work. I have played with the saw for perhaps twenty or more separate days over the past four months. That saw just does not start for me. I don't know what I might be doing wrong. I cant think of anything, and remember, I had an older Stihl saw that I was able to get to run for over thirty years. And I have gone over my method(s) of trying to get the saw to start two or three times with the service manager at Northeast Equipment. He mentioned no discrepancies in my procedure.
