Abacus (K*n) was contracted by our home appliance warranty company (AHS) to repair our AC Wall Unit in March 2023. When he arrived in April 2023, he said we need to replace all the 4 units. He took months to file the necessary paperwork with our warranty provider. He kept claiming he was working with AHS for me. The replacement was finally approved in Aug 2023. The 4 wall units were shipped to him in September 2023. Once the items were received with him, he asked for $700 to install each unit. Summing up to $2800 for 4 units. I believe this amount was ridiculous, so I contacted my home warranty. Over the course of the next few months, he refused to return the wall units to the warranty company, he refused to deliver it to me. Paying $700 per unit for a PTAC installation is absurd. At this point, I assume that he's stolen our equipment and that he has no intention of installing anything. I plan to report him to the ***** of ********* of Electrical Contractors. BBB records show a license number of ************ for this business, issued by ***** of ********* of Electrical Contractors

The BBB complaint information is incomplete.

The complaint concerns a home appliance warranty company. All warranty companies are service providers. Therefore, a consumer as per the service agreement with the vendor is assigned a particular refence for the claim. The assigned number or alpha numeric number, depending on the service provider agreement, is a tracking number to identify the timeline and to identify the outcome focus of the claim for service. The format could be a service work order (SWO). The format could be a dispatch number. The format could be a alpha numeric number associated with a policy number.

Abacus Electric HVAC LLC does not have any service relationships with the service providers (aka warranty companies) for appliances. Abacus Electric HVAC LLC is a licensed Master HVACR contractor. Abacus Electric ** is a licensed electrical contractor.

The Abacus group does not participate, does not condone, and does not accept any fraud. Therefore, if any violation should be reported to local law enforcement so a police investigation can be completed.

In closing, the aforementioned requested information is necessary to properly answer the BBB complaint. Abacus will contact the service provider (warranty) company via the requested information. The service provider (warranty) company will only respond with the proper information.

I hope this response will assist you moving forward

Abacus was contracted by our home appliance warranty company to repair our **. When *** arrived, he said we need to replace the ** unit, which was not a surprise since it was ~20 years old. *** filed the necessary paperwork with our warranty provider, and the replacement was approved and purchased. This was in September 2022. Over the course of the next month, our appointment was repeatedly delayed. Then, when winter came, *** delayed further, arguing that people who *need* heat have to take priority. Frankly, we were sympathetic to this, so we waited patiently. Fast forward to today April 2023. I've spoken to *** several times over the last month. Each time, he's claimed that we'll be watching the weather for the right day, but then never follows up and stops picking up the phone. Today, he yelled at my wife and then hung up on her. At this point, we assume that he's stolen our equipment and that he has no intention of installing anything.
