On Dec 20 my car was towed to ****, based off of a free estimate. On Dec 23 they said they had to perform a diagnostic test to confirm what was going on and it was not free- it would cost $180 plus tax. AFTER the diagnostic was done it was only then disclosed my car had a warranty and the work would be covered so they would not give me a price estimate nor did they give me a report of the diagnostic. I complained to the company and they did not get back to me, and the location themselves changed the story and did not address the main issue. I was quoted a free estimate, they claimed they did a courtsey vehicle check but still did not provide any estimate. I was told I needed a computer diagnostic and that was not free and still I was not giving an estimiate or a report. I paid for a service and got nothing in return.

Customer authorized the diagnostic fee over the phone; the phone call is recorded. Customer also received a repair order stating our diagnosis that the transmission needs repair/replacement and that it is covered under warranty by ******. Therefore, we are not offering the customer a refund.

I am rejecting this response because: the buisness offered an estimate on a recorded phone call. An estimate was not provided by the buisness nor was a comprehensive report of the diagnostic they supposedly did. The only document the buisness provided was a receipt of the amount paid.

The customer is contradicting himself by writing "the business offered an estimate on a recorded phone call. An estimate was not provided by the business." The customer was given a copy of the invoice detailing the diagnostic report and price. If the customer needs another copy he can come to the store and we can print one out or we can send it via email.

I am rejecting this response because: The previous response from the buisness is incorrect, the buisness is misunderstanding my complaint. On the phone, a recorded line, it was stated to my wife a free estimate would be provided. This is why she had the car towed to the location.  When they spoke to me, it was no longer a free estimate- it was a diagnostic that had a fee. First, the only person who should be able to give approval on a change of service should of been my wife- the person the sales manager ***** originally spoke to- not me since I was not aware of all the details of the offer he originally made. The buisness can refer to the original phone call since they state they are recorded for reference. Secondly, they charged me for a diagnostic and provided a receipt only- they did not give me an estimate or a report of the actual diagnostic done and actually refused to give me a price estimate. The did not honor the services promised. This is why I am seeking a refund.
