    I hired the home remodeling company **** Humphreys, in July of 2019, to renovate the interior of my 1,660-square foot split-level house. The estimate provided said the job would take three months. The first thing they did wrong was have a new gas furnace installed before the floor tile was installed under it. Framing was done wrong and had to be ripped out; workers broke a brand new window in my living that was never replaced; for reasons never explained, they ripped up most of the newly installed marble kitchen floor tiles and replaced them with non-matching tiles; workers severely damaged a custom-made bathroom vanity when they tried to jam a sink on top of it that was too big, and they gouged doors on that vanity and a second new custom-made vanity in **************. Metal utility wall cabinets removed for painting were returned dented, scratched and missing a shelf. The hot and cold water were mixed ** in the bathroom, and hot water was piped to the outside faucet in the front of my house. I got mold when they failed to seal the wall around an exterior pipe. More than a year after they removed my original **** steel kitchen cabinets for refinishing, the cabinets were returned missing a drawer, missing hinges and latches and painted in two different shades of yellow. I have spent thousands of dollars fixing poor workmanship and the careless destruction of my property, and Im still not whole. Over the course of this ordeal, the company owner repeatedly lied to me and strung me along while I was stranded staying with friends, bleeding thousands of dollars to store the contents of my house while he dithered around. He also over-charged me thousands of dollars for electrical work that was never performed according to the electrician he hired to do it. When I fired him, I asked him to return my property and refund me $25,000 on the work paid for but not completed and excess storage fees. He has not provided a refund and stopped communicating with me in November 2021.
