My daughter has been thriving at Project Dance for the last five years. The amazing faculty is led by *************************** whose love and attention for all of her students is apparent to all. Project Dance is truly a family like no other!

Very upsetting and emotionally draining experience. We signed the contract with this studio because that is the only way you are given your dance assignments for the year. Our daughter was not included in important company wide dances (1 of 2 girls in the entire studio) and the schedule was far too rigorous for her to keep up with. I was told she was not ready to dance with senior members (not even an 8 count in the back?). We pulled out about three weeks into the season, but the school sent us to collections for the full cost of the entire school year (over 3k) bc we signed that contract. I was able to find a less strict dance school that she's been successful at the and owner of PD said she knows my daughter is dancing, so clearly she's able and we owe them the money, despite having only made it 3 weeks into September. I wish PD the best, but mother to mother, I had to find a place that would support her needs and she felt safe and comfortable at- I explained all of this, but was met with you signed it, you owe it, despite any/all reasons and how few days we were even into the season. If you have a child with anxiety I cannot recommend this studio- seek somewhere that doesn't give demerits for absences and will include everyone despite ability.

    Mrs.Maraldo,
It is unfortunate that you felt the need to post this review almost one year later. Most dance companies have a commitment form to protect their students, parents, and studio. Our Company Commitment is sent out for signature to every parent in the studio in advance so we can effectively and efficiently budget for the year ahead.
The company commitment that you signed clearly outlined all expectations for the year. It is clear now that our rules and policies did not work for you or your family, but you signed in agreement regardless.
We went as far as to provide a weekly semi-private ballet class in order to give your dancer a chance to develop her technique, at no additional cost to you. We went above and beyond to restructure your dancer’s schedule after you voiced concerns. Your request to compete her contemporary duet but only participate in Hip Hop Class was not granted, instead you were offered an alternative schedule, but that still was not good enough. We offered different options to accommodate your request and you declined.
We are glad to hear your daughter was able to jump right back in to dance and enjoy the year at her new studio

*************************** charged our credit card for an entire year tuition and our daughter did not attend one class! We were told the company casting would only be released to people who signed the company commitment. So we did, once we were able to see the amount of dances our daughter was in, along with other issues we decided it was not going to work. So 6 days from signing, In August before her September June season started, before any class, we told ****** we would not be continuing. She had already received almost **** in a deposit for her compensation, and she proceeded to charge thousands more for the entire year tuition. She is also threatening me with slander for sharing what happened to us. Sadly instead of being able to recommend this studio, this is what happened to us..
