I signed my 2 year old toddler up for the soccer shots program. He loves to kick around an ball, has high energy and loves being outside. He does not go to daycare he is home with my Mom during the day while I work from home so this was also another way for me to get him around other kids and listen to other adults as in a coach giving simple instructions. When I read the website I was excited to see that this program would provide my son with helpful skills in learning soccer but also exposure to new learning and development because the program claims to understand the developmental stage of the participants. This whole program has been awful and a complete false advertisement in approach, services and qualifications of the coaches. The two year old program coaches did not demonstrate an understanding of the developmental Stage of a two year old at all and quite frankly I think its dangerous and detrimental to the health of s child by participating in a program that fails to understand how to work with their age group. The coaches often spoke really fast, didnt approach the group holistically or allow for kids who couldnt follow the instruction the first time and flat out ignored the child who was behind in understanding the next step. The pinnacle point to me was when my son was refused a stamp at the end of the practice because he didnt listen and took someone elses ball. My child was singled out and the entire class has a hard time listening because they are TWO! My son looked so sad, dejected and confused. St two years old the attention span is less than 5 minutes so a child whose entire class is given s stamp has no idea why they werent given one. They dont have the concept to understand that something they did in the beginning of the class impacts that particular moment. In addition they are two! They are learning how to interact with other children and should be expected to take a ball or not be able to hold attention for *********************************************************************************************************************************** a addition there were times coaches ignored him, didnt cheat for him when he mad a goal or give positive reinforcement when he was doing s task right. All things you do for thru age. This operation should not be allowed to be in business until they change their approach.
