This complaint is regarding an unresolved fuel charge dispute following a car rental (***********) from 1/1/25 to 1/4/25, at MCO. Avis charged me a $117.88 fuel surcharge, claiming the vehicle was returned with insufficient fuel. However, I refueled the tank before returning the car and provided proof, including a receipt and timeline evidence. I rented a Chevrolet Suburban and drove 202 miles during the rental period. On my way to return the car, I stopped at a Wawa gas station located at **** ** ******** ******* **., Oviedo, FL, and purchased $38.61 worth of fuel (12.144 gallons), which fully filled the tank. My receipt from Wawa, time-stamped at 9:01 AM, confirms the transaction. Avis sent me a text message at 9:31 AM, acknowledging that the car had been returned. Given that the drive from the gas station to the airport takes approximately 25 minutes, I returned the car around 9:25 AM, minutes after refueling. Despite this, Avis claims I returned the car with only 16.2 gallons in the tank—approximately 12 gallons less than when I picked it up. This is incorrect. I reached out to Avis via phone and also reached out via "X" (Formerly twitter), explaining the situation and provided a receipt from Wawa showing the refueling transaction, including the timeline matching the drive from the gas station to the airport. They refused to adjust the charge despite the evidence I provided. Additional Concerns: I found in the internet other customers who have reported similar issues with fuel charges from Avis, raising concerns that this may be part of a broader pattern of unfair billing practices. Requested Resolution: 1. A full refund of the $117.88 fuel surcharge. 2. A clear and detailed explanation of how the fuel reading was determined and why it was inaccurate. 3. An apology for the time and frustration caused by this experience. I am extremely frustrated that my integrity has been questioned and disappointed by Avis’s refusal to address this issue properly.Initial Complaint

Prepaid for a rental car in April for vacation on June 2- June 9. Their system showed payment due at pickup. Submitted information to them showing was paid( the confirmation email as well as credit card charge) received confirmation back from AVIS that it was a prepaid reservation and I was all set for my rental on June 2. Spoke with them again on May 30 and again advised the system showed prepaid I was all set for pickup on 6/2. Got 1300 miles from home and they wanted me to pay at the counter. Explained everything to the worker and supervisor they had me call customer service. Customer service showed it as prepaid. Ultimately they had me cancel the reservation and my husband rented a car. My refund was to be issued in 3-5 business days on the card I provided over the phone. 25 days later I still do NOT have my refund. They just keep saying “the paperwork was completed I will refer to have the refund issued. Should take 3-5 business days” it’s been almost a month. Will not let me speak to billing or a supervisor when I call.Initial Complaint

Hi, Last month my company(Bright Sky Inc) rented a car because my corporate car went to the Body shop and unfortunately I choose Budget/Avis rent a car from Edison. As soon as I get in the place I told the person assisting me i had a reservation and the amount was paid by my company. He found the reservation under the number *********** and he asked to get a card to charge the secure deposit, i gave my debt card and i didn't realize he charged me the full amount of the agreement which was $368.40 but unfortunately I just realized that on the next day. Next day I called and the person said they was going to put the money on hold and after I give the car back to them, they was going to send the money back to my card and it NEVER HAPPENED. I'm still having the transaction on my statement and they posted the transaction, the manager Bob asked me for 10 business days and for sure the money was going to be back in my account and again, it never happened. Please I need a solution. Rental agreement: *********Initial Complaint

On 7/12/2023, I reserved a car from **** online. It was pre-paid online in the amount of $478.02. Confirmation number 19302141-US-5. When I returned the vehicle on 7/18/2023, I was required to pay for 1/8 of a tank of gas for which I used the same credit card that I used to reserve the vehicle. On my credit card statement, there was a charge on 7/12/2023 for the $478.02 and an additional charge for $516.01 on 7/18/2023 instead of just the gas charge. I contacted both the drop off location and **** customer service. The drop off location would not make the adjustment. **** customer service never returned my call.
