      Hi,

      Hi, I’m contacting you as both a journalist and a disgruntled customer.

      I have had bad experiences with two packages of Bowl & Basket frozen fish, whiting fillets and salmon purchased from ShopRite in Milford, CT. In both packages, there were numerous pieces that smelled off that I had to discard for fear of becoming ill. These were expensive packages - $15-20 per package - and they are now unusable. I am extremely disappointed and would like a full refund as I expected better quality from this store.

      I’ve lodged multiple complaints with customer service which have been ignored as well as a BBB complaint against that store location, which was also ignored. I would like this complaint addressed immediately or I will be taking further steps to get my money back.

      Sunday, March 31, 2024, between the hours of 10am – 11am EST, I went to the Florist department at the Shop Rite grocery store located on Foxon Road in East Haven, CT 06513. I asked the clerk to make a custom bouquet of flowers for my mother for Easter. While the florist clerk was making my floral arrangement, the florist supervisor named Jadd, overtook the floral arrangement and started to work on it. Jadd then asked the clerk if she put all the SKUs on the single ticket. The clerk told her yes. After they finished my floral arrangement, I brought the bouquet to Customer Service to pay for it. After paying for my floral arrangement, I exited the grocery store into the parking lot. When I reached the parking lot, the Florist Supervisor, named Jadd, yelled out loud in front of everyone outside in the parking lot, “Sir! You have to pay for those flowers!” I turned around and showed her my receipt. I then put the flowers in the car, then walked back inside to the Floral Department of Shop Rite and asked Jadd, “why did you assume that I didn’t pay for the flowers?” Jadd then replied, ”because I was watching and saw that you didn’t pay for the flowers.” I then said, “If you were watching me, you would have saw that I did pay for the flowers at Customer Service.” I then said, “you must stop judging people.” Jadd then said, “sir, if you are implying that I am racist, I am not. Because I have a black husband.” I then said to her, “it doesn’t make a difference, how you treated me was deplorable.” She apologized but the emotional embarrassment was already done. I called the other clerk over and gave her tip for my floral arrangement and then left the store.

      As you can see here, she admitted her intention. She was racially profiling me in your store. I'm so upset on how I was treated. To see that this disgusting behavior is still going on in the year of 2024 is a sad sight to see. Her behavior is the catalyst that destroys your business reputation.

      in ShopRites weekly advertisement effective October 30, 2022 thru November 5, 2022, they advertise Fresh Dover Sole Fillet Wild Caught, Never Frozen for $9.99lb. when you go to stores to purchase, they sell you Grey Sole for that price. True Dover Sole is specific variety of sole from European waters. they should be reprimanded for false advertising. and using bait and switch tactics.
