  For approximately one and a half years, we have been dealing with a significant water problem in our concrete basement whenever our town received a very heavy amount of rain for a relatively long time. There is about a 12 foot section of the floor that would initially receive an accumulation of water. This area of the floor is somewhat elevated with a angled drop towards the center of the floor. In addition there is a rug covering some of the lower portions of the floor. This rug would absorb much of the water from going to the back of the house, however it would, also, push water to the lower sloped sections of the floor.The end result of this is that since I didn't have a Wet-Vac, I would have to use a dustpan to scoop up the water, dump it into a bucket and then empty it into our wash basin. This would take a considerable amount of time, and I am 76 years old. I then had to use a squeeze mop to thoroughly remove the water. In January, I was talking to a very good friend about what a chore this is. He said I should contact **** Durante Masonry as his company does excellent cement work. With that, I contacted **** and arranged a date and time for him to check it out. After seeing it, he said that the problem is that the water is coming up from the ground, and to fix it correctly, he would have to put in a French drain along the length of the wall, and a sump pump. I, also, enquired if he could re-cement the entire wall as it was a mess. We agreed on a price and he and his team came the next week. In a few days, everything was completed in a super manner. All debris was removed, and all of the work area was totally cleaned up.I highly recommend **** Durante Masonry to anyone needing cement work done. PS - there has not been any water in the basement since the job was completed.
