My sister, ************************** stayed at the *********************************************** in *********, **. While she was there, they lost her dentures and some of her clothes. I had asked the nurse on the basement floor several times about them and she gave me the run around. I finally spoke with the head nurse. I think her name is **** and she asked for receipts for the dentures and clothes. My sister had her dentures years ago and the dentist that did them had passed so she said there was nothing she could do without a receipt. Now we have to pay out of pocket for my sister some new dentures. Also, when my sister was in the facility, she had ******** and ***** insurance. ********************************** told me that she recommended that I cancel her ***** insurance. I asked her why and she gave me an answer about ******** and ******** rules. I told her I would think about it. She called me days later and asked me if I decided because the forms had to be in before a certain date. She explained how long she has been doing insurance so I took her word that she knew what she was talking about. My sister fell in the facility and had to have hip surgery. After the surgery, my sister said she did not want to go back to that facility, so we moved her. Since my sister left the facility, I have been getting bills from the facility and another facility that she was in before we had to put her in a nursing home. Since the ***** insurance was canceled, there is no secondary insurance to submit the bills to and this is all because of the recommendation from **********************************. I have emailed her a couple of times to talk to her, but she never responded. ******** and other institutions need to know what she did and also that this facility will lose a person's items and not reimburse them for them because they don't have a receipt. I don't know of anyone that keeps receipts for dentures or clothes for years.
