I am writing to file a formal complaint against Kearny Bank regarding their failure to deliver a scheduled bill payment on time, which resulted in financial loss on my part.I have consistently paid my bills well in advance to avoid any late fees or interest charges. On this occasion, I scheduled a payment to my *** credit account through ********************* online bill pay system well ahead of the due date. Despite this, the payment was delivered late, and as a result, I was charged a late fee and interest totaling $223.98 by BJs.I promptly contacted Kearny Bank upon discovering the issue and provided them with full documentation, including copies of my BJs bill showing the charges. I communicated with two bank representatives, ******** ********* and ****** ******, who acknowledged the issue but attempted to shift blame to the banks vendor, CheckFree.Throughout our month-long correspondence, I made it clear that I should not be involved in the bank's internal vendor issues. My position remains that I acted in good faith by using the banks platform and scheduling the payment on time. The banks responsibility is to ensure timely delivery of payments made through its system. After weeks of back-and-forth communication, during which I repeatedly requested reimbursement for the fees I incurred, the bank abruptly ceased responding.

As of February 4, 2023 I still have not received my ****-INT statement. I called on 2/3/2023 to the corporate office and was told that they were mailed out 1/26/2023 and she would connect me to the branch I use and they will print one out for me to pick up. I called the branch and they offered to email it to me but since I physically had to go there, I said I would pick it up. I also raised concerns at the delay of not receiving the form by now. The branch manager called me back and did her manager things and even offered to drive to my house to drop it off. That took me by surprise and was very kind however, she told me that they were mailed on 1/31 and by law they have until the 31st. Nothing like waiting until the last minute? So I go to the branch on 2/4 for other business and to pick up the statement and spoke with the manager for a few minutes and the excuses just continue. Now it's the fault of the post office. You know what? I don't believe those forms were processed and mailed timely and I think an investigation is required. The mail service has been much better in the past 6 months so the excuse to blame the postal service isn't working anymore. Why can't the bank just own up to their mistake? This is not the first incident I have had with this bank. Maybe they could put these documents with the on line banking like Ally. Discover, *********** and I am sure other banks do. I have accounts at all of the others I mentioned and never have any issues. I don't keep much in Kearny and maybe it's time for me to find a new bank.
