About 2 months ago ARG Recovery contacted me regarding what they claimed was an outstanding bill to ******* in the amount of $1492.41. I told them that I had worked for ***** which was a subsidiary of ******* but I retired in 1992, and I have not had an account with ******* since my retirement. I have only a cellphone with ********* and have not had a landline with ******* in more than 20 years, and I tried to explain that to the debt collector. ARG Recovery insisted that it was my bill, and subsequently began harassment tactics. They call first thing in the morning before I get up, in the middle of the day, and after my bedtime even thought it is early evening. Each time they use a different telephone number ******************-638-0971) so they cannot be identified, and they leave a lengthy message threatening me with legal action if I do not respond. Most recently, they reduced the amount from $1492.41 to $447.72 and once again threatened me with legal action. I am almost 80 years old, and I find these calls very disturbing because I live alone, and a distance from my children. What can be done to resolve this matter and stop the harassment? For my personal safety, I do not want to change my phone number in case I need to contact a family member. They have provided me with a medical alert, but I still alone in my apartment. I do not want to stop answering my phone, but the constant calling and threats are very disturbing. I have saved one of the messages on my cellphone in the event that you need proof about the information I have provided. The message says I need to do the right thing and get this settled. Thank you for your assistance.

The Advanced Recovery Group alleges they have been hired by a company to collect a debt from my company. They have sent text messages, called and left voicemails to third parties unrelated to the alleged debt arising from the matter. None of these third parties have consented to receiving text messages or phone calls. These third parties are also family members. I have screenshots from of the texts that this Advanced Recovery Group sent without authorization and in violation of several laws including the Fair Debt Collection Act.
