3/12/2025. I had an installation of closets in my home. When the installer was done and leaving his push the screen door closed that we had proped open so he could come in and out of the home. When he was leaving he push it closed and cracked the wood on the frame of the door. He tried to fix it by adding a s**** and adding some brown corking. When I recently tried to prop the door open the wood cracked off. I called the company and they are not willing to help saying I signed a paper all was good but that was signed before the installer walked out of the house. Once he walked out the door that is when he pushed it closed and the wood cracked.

This is specifically regarding the NW NJ office of Closets by Design

After waiting for 2 months to start installation (post paying 50% deposit) was informed need to pay in full prior to start of installation. Now 2 months later of going back and forth, many unreturned calls and multiple follow ups on my part, 2 walk in closets are still not completed. Cracks in panels, errors/poor installation, missing material, lack of communication, lack of quality control, wrong items delivered, more and more delays and excuses.
Very poorly managed and run office. At such a high expense they can not practice like this. Instills so much stress and so much wasted energy on trying to keep calling the office to fix and complete the project.

Signed contract in February for April 16 &17th install. Had me pay in full before job was complete. On day 1 they didn't have all the materials and called me after was half completed and canceled day 2 of the install. It went downhill fast from there: finally came back that Saturday and didn't have all the materials to complete the job. Set a date for may4th to complete and after confirming sent me an email that they needed to cancel because all the materials were not in. Funny came on may9th job is not completed to spec 2 sections are much shorter. The designer must not have measured correctly but all in all the job was not completed as outlined in the contract and the owner wants to do nothing about it. And when I disputed the charge they are now threatening to put a lien on my home. This is not how a company should conduct business. And I tried calling the owner with no return call and the parent company could care less. Basically I have no recourse for a job that was not completed as it his have been

I had a design come for a custom closet in the fall of 2023. I clearly explained what I wanted. I waited until January for installation and her design did not meet expectations for what had been discussed. I spoke with 3 different managers including *********************** until finally someone was sent to my home to look at the closet. They stated that what I had asked for overall was not possible despite what the designer had told me. The suggested reconfiguring the closet which I agreed to. However now they are insisting I pay an additional amount for their error. They stated the closets are custom and they need new pieces but the error is not my issue. I am not a designer- I cannot look at their drawings and make anything out of it. They should be fixing this at no cost to me
