    Hello,
    August of 2022 the company worked on my drive way. They extended the driveway and repaired the old Asphalt with new asphalt. During the demolition the side walk was damaged. From the impact of the equipment. Pictures were sent to the company and I was told someone would come do the repairs. We contacted the company from 2022-2024 on multiple occasions . We were told each time someone will come fix it if weather permitting. Finally, they came sometimes in July ( we were on vacation not sure what date) and made repairs that is unacceptable. My husband and I have reached out multiple time and requested to speak to the owner directly. No response. We paid about 8000 dollar in cash. I would like the company to come repair the entire side walk that was damaged because of their work. Or allow me to send them a invoice so they can reimburse me to have the work done. I can provide estimates. The side walk was replaced in 2020.

    We made a repair to the extent of
    the damages we caused. We chipped the edge of the sidewalk and sawcut and
    patched the area that was chipped. Matt spoke numerous times with Felix by
    phone since the job was originally done.   We are
    not responsible for replacing an entire sidewalk because there was a chip
    on the edge of 1 slab. 

    Our contract states we are not
    responsible for damages to sidewalks or aprons on said premises. Since the
    sidewalk work was not done by us, its not under our warranty. The repair was
    done out of good faith to the customer, at no cost to the customer.  

    In addition, this is the first we are receiving this complaint through BBB.

    I am rejecting this response because: It is a shame a business can be negligent and careless in their work and expect the homeowner to be responsible for the damage caused by them. As per communicating with Felix (which I believed happened 2x over a two-year period of calling multiple times and emailing), yes, he was very understanding and patient because he is NOT the homeowner. The cost of repairing the sidewalk cause by your careless and reckless job now fall on me. I the homeowner called the office multiple times to request to speak to you directly, and did not get a call back. I had an engineer come to the property to get their opinion. As per the engineer the extend of the damage was caused by the initial impact of the crack. The so-called repair that was made to the crack is appalling. Please take accountability.

    We are not careless or negligent with our work. We are the opposite, and because we know the risks involved with driving large trucks and machinary over sidewalks, we explicitly state in our contract that "we are not responsible for any damage to sidewalks or aprons on said premises"
    This contract was signed prior to work beginning. It is the responsibility of the signer to carefully read and understand the terms of our contract. 
    When these areas are not completed by us, they are not covered under our warranty, and we have no way of knowing if they were poured to correct thickness to withstand the weight of our machinary and trucks. 
    The reason we have been communicating with Felix is because the email address we have been communicating with is ************************** and when he had called our office, he left his cell phone number where he and Matt have communicated multiple times. 
    The repair we made out of good faith was communicated to you back when the job was originally done. 
    In a September 27, 2022 email, ************************** acknowledges that we said we would come back and patch the cracked edge of the driveway up. Attached are the photos that were sent to us by you, which show the damaged area that was eventually repaired by us at no cost.

    This Company installed a new driveway for me and I am very unhappy with the finished job. I called them four times and was told I would get a call from the owner never got call. I also asked for of a copy of the Permit they said they got for job never got it. Was charged $75.00 for permit I am not sure a permit was ever obtained by them. The job they done looks like a rough coat and not a finish job. They are not a good company to deal with they don't respond to prob lems.

    I called ****************** on June 12- left a message.  Did not receive a call back.  I called again on June 23 and spoke to ****************** who told me that he doesnt listen to his messages.   So how would he know if I called him?  I explained to him that his driveway looks like any other driveway that our company does (approx 400 driveways per year).  I will give ****************** addresses of some recently completed driveways in his area for him to go and look at.  

    The permit for his driveway was obtained from the town - and given to ****************** on the first day of work when we arrived to rip up the driveway.   We will send him another copy of his permifor his files.

    This company obtains permits from every town that requires them.  We would never charge a customer for a permit fee if we did not obtain the permit for the job.  We are a reputable local contrractror and would not jeopardize our relationships with the towns that we  work iin by not apply for a permit.

    We will ask ****************** to look at the other jobs and then call me to discuss.  Again, his driveway looks fine- there is nothing wrong with it.

    I am rejecting this response because:
    I did not receive the permit the day the driveway was done. I did make 4 calls asking for a call back and a copy oif permit. I got copy after you contacted them. He did call me after you notified him about my camplaint and promise me he would send my a list of other driveways he did in this area. I have received no list yet. People who have looked at the driveway said they have never seen anything this like thgis before. He said he would come and look at it with me I am still waiting.

    ****************** was given a copy of his permit the day we started the work at h is house. We also sent ****************** a copy of the permit for his files.

    ****************** was offered a list of jobs to reference which he did not want to see.

    Macchione has acknowledged Mr.******** complaints and offered him a free sealcoating of his driveway at the time of his choosing.
    He accepted this offer and said he would be closing the complaint.

    The complaint against A Macchione Brothers is resolved but only after all of your letters to them. Even after the letters they made offers to correct the problem but did not do it until I made numerous calls. They did not respond to anything until I contacted you even then I had to call them for what they told you they would do.
