Osler at Home, whose President is Dr Thomas B*******, MD, provided at home medical services to my father, ****** ** ******, for a number of years prior to Nov. 8, 2022, when he was hospitalized after a fall, never returned home, and passed away in a hospice on Jan. 5, 2023. Dr B******* was also my father's primary physician. I am my father's trustee under his family trust and responsible for paying any legitimate medical bills that my father was unable to pay himself. On 2/8/23 Osler billed my father $45 for at-home visits on 11/1/22 and 11/30/22. I paid this bill without noticing that an at-home visit to my father on 11/30/22 was impossible, since my father was away from home in hospice on that date. On 6/21/23 Osler billed my father $105 for visits to Dr B******* at his office. No such office visits occurred, as my father was housebound and Osler was providing ONLY at-home visits for this reason. In this same billing Osler also billed an additional $35 for the at-home visit on 11/1/22, which was previously billed and paid by me. I wrote a detailed letter to Dr B******* pointing out the problems with these two billings (billing for impossible home visit on 11/30/22 and double billing for home visit on 11/1/22). Dr B******* never replied to my letter. Instead, in a new billing on 7/26/23, clearly prompted by my letter, my father was charged for IN-OFFICE visits to Dr B******* on 5/31/22, 6/1/22 (2 adjacent days), 6/30/22, 7/1/22 (2 adjacent days), 7/31/22, 9/1/22, and 10/1/22. These IN-OFFICE visit could not have occurred, as explained above, and back-to-back in-office visits on 2 subsequent days are proposterous. I also received an EOB summary from my father's medical insurer indicated that Dr B******* had submitted or resubmitted all claims for 2022. Most of these claims were denied, and for the remaining claims there was no match to either at-home or in-office visits as the basis for the claims. Clearly, something is seriously amiss in Osler's 2022 billing.
