Started with Freedom Martial Arts January 2024. Paid for the entire year. Told there wouldn't be refunds which was fine because I didn't plan to quit. Asked what if I move - Miss ***** said "If you move more than 6minutes away you get a refund. That was the only problem I saw arising and they seemed reasonable. LOVED EVERY CLASS. Attended 4 times a week for 2.5 months. My teacher was phenomenal and I learned a lot.

Then I was severely injured to the point that I could not walk for days then for months without pain. I attended physical therapy for over 5 months. The physical therapist said yoga is safer but you can try martial arts and see how your body reacts. When I went back to class - barely doing anything the hip and knee injury was still re-activated and I was in pain after class. I went back to the orthopedic doc who recommended I discontinue martial arts. The foot doctor said the same thing.

I gave Miss ***** the note from my orthopedic. She stated, "Thanks for the note but we don't do refunds." She questioned the legitimacy of my injury asking, "What did the doctor even do for an evaluation" which is a violation of HIPPA. She said they had someone in a wheel chair doing martial arts, and a blind instructor. I informed her this is a re-occuring injury and per my physical therapist I do not want a joint replacement. Miss ***** said "my knee caps used to fall out all the time, I was also told I may have to get a joint replacement and I'm still doing this." She went on to say "you're doing yoga though." I can barely do half a class of gentle yoga. She offered creating a package one on one which didn't solve the problem because I can't do martial arts.

I emailed the owner and was ignored. I followed up again and was ignored. I am not trying to take advantage. I paid about $1440 for the year and did 2.5 months. As stated, I'm happy to pay the regular monthly price instead of discounted. Even if they give me back half. I didn't choose to get hurt.
