On 15 Jan 2024, Reed HVAC was called to *** ********** ** ******* NJ for a no heat call. The technician determined that the condensate drain was clogged, and the drain was cleaned and the unit was returned to service. Even though the unit was running the technician lied to my wife and said the fan motor. This is typical fraud where a technicians takes advantage of a consumer. The company was written a certified letter as follows: As the owner of *** ********** court, ******* NJ *****, and licensed HVAC professional, license number ************. On 15 Jan 2024 your technician was sent out to *** ********** ** ******* for a no heat call. The technician found a clogged condensate drain in which the technician cleared and left the unit as a fully operating unit. The technician stated that there was a bad draft inducer fan motor which was false, on 16 Jan 2024 Irene S. authorized the repair, she was taking advantage of a she trusted the technician, the replacement was not required and unwarranted. The unnecessary repair was to replace a fully functional draft inducing fan motor. A few things and questions must be noted, the inducing motor, with a sealed impeller, and on open face motor was replace by year technician due to a high amp reading. How did you test the motor load on fractional 1/40 hp motor, what was the reading, was your meter calibrated, was a code present, or was the circuit board light on? I don’t think so as you left the furnace running on 15 Jan 2024 fully functioning as designed. You stated the furnace was end of life, my cost for a new 90 plus furnace is approximately 1476 dollars, why would anyone pay 1316.86 for a 283 dollar inducing fan motor, that had not failed remember it’s a condensing furnace.
The bottom lie this is fraud!
