    11/27/22 I spoke to ****** about possible mold in house; I smelt on clothes while vacationing. He stated charge is $250.00 for inspection and $350.00 for testing mold. Appointment scheduled for **** to come 11/28/22. On 11/28/22 **** inspected the crawl space. **** came up from crawl and advised there was mold. He took a sample. I inquired about the smell on my clothes. **** stated he could take air quality samples for $350.00 each. 2 areas were identified which needed testing. After I agreed to test 2 areas, **** told me I had to pay for a "control" sample of the outside air; total would be $1650.00. I acquiesced due to predicament, paid $1700.00 cash, requesting the $50.00 be applied to future work as **** had no change. Amount paid is applied to cost of the repair. ****** called 12/9: 3 types of molds in the crawl space and high levels of aspergillus in the home. He quoted $10,000.00 price to remediate the problem and the $1650.00 would be applied as a credit towards the $10K. I stated, I paid $1700.00. ****** stated **** took a $50 tip. I told ******, he could tip **** and that he couldn't take my money without my permission and tip his employee! ****** identified the process: clean wood surfaces using HEPA vacuum, clean with detergent, use mold agent, use mold striper, HEPA vacuum, then fog whole crawl space with chemicals. Chemically treat the insulation with the fungicide Microban. Use 2 air scrubbers to clean the air in the house. I requested ****** email results of the lab testing. 2 more calls for email results; 12/9 and 12/11. Results received on 12/11. On 12/16 I advised I would speak with my family regarding the job quote. Research has shown ******'s company isn't licensed in the *********** to practice his "craft" or with the ***** or the **** he doesn't have mold remediation insurance and he price gouges the testing. **** used scare tactics and price gouging. There's a reputable lab in Cherry Hill charges $25.00 per sample. Demand $1100.00 refund.
