    At just before 7:00 PM, I was brought back to see ********************** for my 4:00 PM appointment. I shared my reasons for this medical visit and the doctor replied, "Ok, first we're going to lose weight. Then we're going to cut your sodium intake and then we're going to start exercising." Excuse me, I started moving around for fun- running, swimming and climbing when I was a young child. Nowadays, I run, walk, kickbox and recently started to do yoga on my lunch break; at least I did before I got sick. However, the doctor didn't know any of this because well, she never asked me. She assumed that a person in a ****** sized body must not move regularly, has never tried to lose weight and must eat a salt rich diet. She never asked me about my diet. She never asked me about my history of weight loss attempts through dieting, overexercizing or an eating disorder. In fact, her choice to disregard my symptoms, humanity, autonomy and view me as "noncompliant" led her to engage in weight discrimination with a scared person who has been battling disordered eating for the past 25 years. I guess she's never bothered to learn that discrimination is wrong? "Weight stigma undermines health behaviors and preventive care, causing disordered eating, decreased physical activity, health care avoidance, and weight gain (****************************, Appetite, Vol. 82, 2014). Over the long term, it even increases the risk of mortality (*****, A. R., et **** ************* Science, Vol. 26, No. 11, 2015)." ******************************************************
