Been using Meyer & Depew for many years , up until 2-3 years ago all old employees out and new in, that goes for sales as well as service technicians Old sales and technicians was great , not no more I have maintenance contract on my mini-split system that blows out cold and hot air This past winter, mini split stopped working Called them to come out They said I had a small leak in the Freon and it wasnt covered They charged $665 to repair the leak because they said i only had coverage on the air not the heat This is ONE system that blows out both cold and hot air I said fine fix it and they did They said they would be back out in 5 weeks to check to see where leak was coming from They called and said cost would be $695 whether they find the leak or not never heard of such nonsense I understand there is a service call to come to your home , but $700????I never called them back and I will not Service contract I have with them is for 3 items, my mini split , central a/c and my new furnace I got 2 years ago from them All this was $800 with tax I asked for seniors citizen discount , they said no because I have the maintenance agreement which I paid for I still cant wrap my head around, the cost to come out to check the leak whether they find it or not would be $695 Doesnt make any sense whatsoever Keep away from Meyer & Depew

When a system is not working and is diagnosed as being low on refrigerant we perform a leak check. Depending upon how much refrigerant has leaked out, it may be necessary to add additional refrigerant before performing the leak check. If a leak cannot be located visually, we will charge the system with a florescent dye. After the system runs for several weeks we can return and perform an ultra ****** **** check. We uses an ultraviolet lamp that will indicate where any of the florescent dye has leaked from. There are separate charges for each of these visits and each of these tasks. The results of the ultraviolet leak check will determine which additional steps if any are required. It is our policy to always advise clients of the cost of repairs before performing them so that they can make the best decision for themselves as to how to proceed.
