    The skilled nursing facility that was rehabbing my 101 year old mother ordered a wheelchair from Valmar in March 2024. The wheelchair was delivered at the end of March. The cost of the wheelchair was qualified by *********** soon became apparent that this particular wheelchair was not suitable for my mother- too big, too heavy, physically exhausting to maneuver. At the direction and request of Valmar, my mother's attending physician prepared a detailed specific letter of medical necessity to effectuate a wheelchair exchange. Even after we complied with Valmar's documentation request, they refused to provide a suitable replacement( they did offer to sell us a second wheelchair)I facilitated 2 three way phone calls with Valmar and ********* again Valmar refused to offer a no cost exchange, despite the fact that ******** advised that the wheelchair swap was authorized as a medical necessity.******** has filed a complaint against Valmar on our behalf.

    My mother was discharged from ****** Jewish yesterday (June 11) and it was imperative that all items be delivered for her use. The order for all items was placed on June 7. Two of the items were delivered to ****** on June 10 with the remaining items to follow to our residence the next day. I called twice on June 11 and was told they were waiting for insurance approval and told me that one additional item will come the next day. When I called on June 12, I was told that insurance was not covering it but I can pay out of pocket. I told them that they should know what insurance covers and does not and we could have addressed this before June 11. I gave them a secondary insurance and they were able to get it approved. Now it is the second day and my mother does not have all the items she needs. The operate like rank amateurs. As of the writign of this, I still do not have all the items that I need for my mother. This is absolutely shameful.
