The ambulance driver who brought my 95-year-old mother here from ARMC in ************* played vulgar, sexually explicit rap the entire trip. Once arrived, he hustled her for a $5 tip. When that wasn't enough, he hustled her for another $5. If not, he probably would have had her remain outside on the ****** on a cold January night. When I made my first visit the following day I approached what I presumed was the ambulance entrance. An employee was standing at the door smoking a cigarette. Once inside I was appalled. It's outdated, has a dirty appearance, and my mother is in a room that is so cramped you can barely walk around her bed. It took her less than 12 hours to "hate" the place.A gnat was flying around her room in the dead of winter. Even the nurse in the hallway took note of it. Don't they hire an exterminator?I just returned from this s*** hole. A vein on the side of her face has become very prominent since she's been there and I fear it's an infection so I turned on her nurse's call button. No response. I went to the nurse's station and was ignored by one and told by the other that she was sending a text to the doctor. I asked for someone to look in on her. A couple of minutes later, a nurse looked at it and took a photo. That was about all. Several minutes after that another nurse came in and similarly gave no diagnosis and was useless. All the while I thought the doctor would come in and see her. After 45 minutes passed since my first contact with the nurses, I asked when the doctor was coming. Only then was I informed by the staff that THERE IS NO DOCTOR ON THE WEEKENDS!!! She will have to wait until Monday. Not only that, her morbidly obese roommate is allowed to keep the window open all night even in sub-freezing weather. No wonder the place has bugs! And, if I heard my mother correctly, this facility does not supply additional blankets so I had to bring two heavy throws and a terricloth robe to keep her tolerably warm at night.
